It's Packers week! You know what that means. We get to hear from the lunatics!
I wonder if life after Rodgers is as great as they had hoped.

Okay, I'm liking this version of the Packers and their fans.

Weird. I thought MLF was some sort of offensive genius. It's not so fun without Rodgers, huh?
Well, they seem sad and a bit lost. GOOD. Welcome to how the rest of us have felt for the past three decades!

The Packers are 1.5 pt home underdogs playing a 3-4 division rival.
Tough times, indeed…

Do I think we win. Haven't said this in years. No
Do I think we CAN win. Abso freakinlutely.
No expectations this week just want to see some fire and heart in the 1st half.... And 2nd half also.

So many excuses lately. Tonight on the news there was a story complaining about the large number of visiting team fans invading Lambeau Field. We've beat that one down multiple times on this board. Just go to the game or quit buying season tickets ........... losers!
There's very little positive talk this week. So therefore I'm predicting a BIG PACKERS WIN on Sunday versus the perennial losers (since 1961) Central/North team.

If this team is going to catch any momentum this year it starts with this game. If they win I can see them stealing a few and righting the ship because it’s a rivalry game that should generate some juice.
If they lose I think it’s going to get incredibly ugly. And I think they’ll lose.

I thought MN was going to come into Lambeau and beat us. I gave us very little chance.
Then MN beat the 9ers and my opinion changed immediately. This is exactly the time the Packers surprise and take this game.

Any given Sunday. Look at who has beaten who each week. I'm with backthepack, no expectations. Hoping to see improvement.
I haven't had much confidence in this offense for awhile now. Could anything happen weird? Sure. Cousins played one of the best games of his career last Monday. He probably won't repeat that but it probably won't matter. Living here in MN it would be priceless with the upset, but I am not holding my breath.
Maybe they should just treat this game like a preseason game and play everyone. Play Wicks at QB in the first quarter (he throws an ok ball) and maybe we get off to a good start. Then LOVE can have the 2nd and 3rd quarters and bring Clifford in the 4th with his MOXY - balls of steel attitude. Maybe sit Watson and Doubs a little more and give the other WR's more snaps to run around aimlessly. Give Aaron jones his 3 handoffs in the 4th quarter in crunch time. Oh and have a chiropractor on standby for Alexander in case he needs a quick adjustment. MLF can sit on his hands and cry and then look at the scoreboard and cry again.

just would like to see Love settle in the pocket a bit, quite thinking pass rush, and just read and deliver the ball.
any given Sunday, sorta getting old to say that unless we actually win on one of these Sundays.

Improvement - That would require a new QB, new DC, new HC, and possibly new GM and President. So we'll be waiting a while.
Some of my notes about the Vikings.
- Vikings have one of the most effective and efficient passing offenses in the league. The are tied with the Dolphins for the most TD passes in the air (16), 2nd in passing yards, 3rd in passer rating. They have thrown 5 int's.
- Their rush offense is &%$@. They are subpar in terms of yardage and YPC, and they haven't even scored a rushing TD yet this year.
- Defensively they look like middle of the pack, at best. Similarly to Denver, they give up a high % of completions (74.6%). In fact, Denver is the only team worse than MIN in this category. Rush defense has not been special.
Jaire's health is going to be important. We need turnovers. The way I see it, if our run defense is ever going to step up, it has to be in this game.

Expect a lot of purple at Lambeau this weekend.
MLF has 5 days to figure it out. I read somewhere that Love has more rushing yards than Jones. It's too bad we don't have a TE who can block well enough to keep him at the line to help out. It would be worth it. With the OL issues the offense may benefit from more designed QB draws. If Love can be seen as a threat to run he may make CBs start to come after him, leaving a WR open.
MLF had 10 days to figure out how to put up points against one of the worst defenses in the NFL and couldn't.
This team is on the precipice of really going in the tank. But with KARK on the other side, all things are possible.

Double digit loss. But purchasing Sunday Ticket was a triple digit loss.
This could be a Moss wipe his ass on the goalpost-level game. Cousins fails when he is rattled which is something our defense wasn't able to do to Wilson.
The soft zone coverage schemes without trying to disguise anything get eaten up by good QBs. Kirk is the one of the best "very good" QBs that has ever played. He's never been considered elite, but he's 7th all time in passer rating and when he has time he reads coverages well.
If you don't put pressure on him, he will look like a HOF QB against you. Based on what we've seen, I fully expect Joe Barry to rush 4 and drop into a soft zone coverage and allow a bunch of 14 play 7 minute drives where Kirk can dump the ball off on 5 yard check downs and just methodically move the ball downfield. The defense (especially the DL) ends up on the field for so many plays they get worn down and then get manhandled when the other team turns to the running game once they build a lead against the Packers non-existent offense.

It looks like on several plays that the personnel don't even know what plays are being called (the Watson/Reed third down where they ended up in the same spot).
Other than Aaron Jones, everyone on the offensive side of the ball has arrived since MLF became the head coach. They were presumably drafted because they fit the style of offense MLF wanted to run. They are young, but it seems like none of the offensive personnel look comfortable in the offense. You'd expect them to have a couple of go-to sets or plays that they execute well, but they can't run the ball, the short passing game is just dump downs to stationary targets that don't appear to be schemed to get guys to catch the ball on the move in space, and the deep passing game might be the worst I've ever seen from the Packers since Hadl's washed up arm showed up in Green Bay in 1974.
It doesn't help that they may have the worst starting LT in football, but it's beyond that. It appears many guys are just unprepared and they don't really have an offensive identity. It's not really clear what MLF really wants to do. The only things that work seem to be back-shoulder throws, DPI on under thrown deep balls, and getting Aaron Jones in open space. Of course, MLF doesn't seem to build an offense around Jones either.

After watching both teams this past weekend vikings should kill green bay. Which means green bay will probably win by 10 pts
I think the Packers have been playing mostly to the experience level of their skill position players on offense. And I don’t think the defense has been as bad as folks make it out to be.
Each week is a different battle. The Vikings (at home) beat the Niners yesterday but struggled the week before (on the road) against a very sh*tty Bears team. Same with Cleveland the last two weeks. Beat the Niners then struggle with the Colts.
With the youth/inexperience of players on offense (kicker included), I really think it’s going to take time for the game to slow down and for everyone to see the same thing and be on the same page each and every play.
I don’t think the Packers are an upper echelon team. But I would not be surprised if the offense either suddenly starts to click. Or if it is a mixture of inconsistency from week to week once it clicks. They’re young and they’re learning.

Cousins is having arguably his best season. If he has time to throw, and if Barry runs his typical soft zone coverage, it’s going to be a long day for the Packers.
I think it’s going to be a long day for GB anyway because they aren’t a well prepared or well coached team. They are also totally decimated by injuries.
Unless GB can turn over Minnesota several times I see this being like a 30-10 type game.

I’m there as well. The wins would be great but I specifically want to see Jordan Love improve. He has not.
The plethora of injuries certainly haven’t helped. But the coaching has been awful and they are one quarter away from being 1-5. Perhaps the team just isn’t that good.

Relax, I’m trying to but in reality we all thought this season would be different, right. Give it more time before we change QB, fire the head coach, etc. Just remember, we’ve had it pretty good the last 30+ years. We probably need an entire season to make judgments.
People would rather sell their tickets than sit and watch the Packers lose.
The Packer fanbase has given away HFA whether the Packers are losing or not. We have 3rd and 4th generation fans that inherited tickets and will sell as many tickets as they have to so they can see a few games free. Tickets are a lot more expensive than when grandpa first bought them. The secondary market has diluted the advantage the Packers had at Lambeau.
I knew a Viking fan that sold the Packers and Bears tickets every season and saw all the other games for free.

Not one player is showing improvement and that's primarily because the team is so dysfunctional in all phases. The OL is so bad that there are no holes to run through or time to pass. So how could any skill position player show improvement.
The defense has had it's moments but how many turnovers have they created? I can think of 2 INTs and a fumble.

After what I saw against the Niners it's going to be ugly.
I have to remind myself that the Packers were 8-9 last year with Aaron Rodgers and a strong finish to the year just to miss the playoffs.
It was never going to happen with Rodgers around but for the long term GB would have been better off playing Jordan Love down the stretch last year. The way this season is playing out so far it could become a throwaway year so they can see what they have with Love and his development (or not).

I just want the Pack TO LOOK LIKE THEY ARE AN NFL TEAM AND not a high school team. Please.........just look professional ok?? PLEASE.
Agreed, but it’s not happening this year. The Vikings defense will attack our O-line with constant blitzes of their smart and it’s going to get ugly quickly. This game is going to cause most of us to want to turn the game off. Kark is also the best QB our D has had to face. I predict a 20-point loss or higher. It won’t be close.
I said earlier it's going to be ugly, I just hope Love doesn't get hurt and I mean that.
queenies on grass on a cold day in Wis.... I'm not placing any bets
I think I saw somewhere that the Spermheads VIKINGS lead the league in blitzing and I would expect them to ramp it up even more with the way the Packers offense is playing.
They also have not scored a rushing TD this year by the looks of it. I think Joe Barry will fix that for them and I expect MN to run the ball well as most teams do against GB.
MN beat the 49ers but in previous games they struggle with Carolina and Chicago so which team shows up? I have this feeling the team that will show up will be the one the plays down to their opponent. They still win but it won't be a blowout.

Weird thing is love is ranked 11 in passing against the blitz...so there's that.

Vikings winning a game they're not supposed to win....Teams after playing the Niners not covering the spread like 10-11 straight. Something like that. Vikings on a short week

Vikings lost a ton of close games early against pretty good teams because they kept fumbling the ball away. They're a lot better than their record, and OL has been pretty good, so if they take care of the ball, we're absolutely complaining about the defense after.
Question is, how will the offense look?
If it keeps looking the same, I think I might be on board with just firing all the coaches, the question for me will be, to keep or get rid of Gute?
I like Gute, but I don't trust him with linemen and that's absolutely what we need right now, and I don't trust any Packer with a 3rd round pick right now, those all seem to be wasted.

I don’t see the Packers firing any coaches during the season. If this offense continues to fail/get worse throughout the year though, I think LaFleur is gone. Or Love. Maybe both.

Blood bath incoming.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let's face it, we stink.
Coming into the year, we had a decent team on paper, in a league with a great amount of parity. But the margin of error is very thin, we are well outside that margin
With the injuries to key performers, Bakhtiari, Jones, Jenkins, Watson, Stokes, Alexander, Savage, and Campbell, from a personnel perspective, we are not good....no that's not fair....we stink. And we weren't exactly dominant when all of them were healthy.
We have been on a great ride for 2+ decades, and now we are going to stink his year. We have to be big boys and girls and deal with it. Of course we don't like it, but that just the way it is.
In a strange way, perhaps this take some pressure off of Love who can get a season worth a reps with a team which now, objectively should have low/no expectations. Let's find the warriors and performers in the group, get health and retool to show something later in the year and into next year.
I would rather stink for a year or two and build to a Super Bowl contender. We have not been a legitimate contender for a couple of years not.
