It was a good trade at the time, but a no brainer. Detroit was practically giving him away. Which is why they're a smarter team. They knew he wasn't worth what he was going to ask for, and in a lost year, they managed to get something for him before they lost him for nothing, and they went to their favorite sucker. Based on TJ's 10 game audition with us last year (60 catches, only 519 yards (8.7 YPC) and 3 TD's), he wasn't worth the market setting contract. The average TE last year had 10.5 YPC. And this year he's making that deal look really bad, compared to what some of these other game changing TE's are doing. Seriously can you think of a single game where TJ has made a difference for us since we traded for him? For what we're paying him, those moments should be smacking us in the face. He had a chance on 4th and 8 but apparently he's worse at breaking tackles than Rudolph.

Well the assignment was quality players lol. Phillips hasn't done anything noteworthy, Akers has had a few promising carries but it's still too early, and Risner is still just a head scratcher at this point. $4m guard to play special teams? One that should've been here back in July already.

Maybe, but the fact that he can't get on the field over Lowry probably suggests he's not a "quality player" at this point. He's only a 5th rounder though.

Probably his best move so far, but as whoskmoon pointed out, a year too late. Which maybe wasn't up to him so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Probably not a good sign if your best move is cutting expensive aging vets however lol.

I wasn't on any coach of the year bandwagons. I saw the frauds for who they were. The Vikings are 6-8 since their magical 8-1 start though. And you mention the bad 2023 start like we merely lost a few heavy weight fights against some quality opponents lol. My 2 eyeballs see a dumpster fire. We keep seeing the same mistakes week after week. The same mistakes we saw under Zimmer.

KOC's play calling is questionable at best. I think we're starting to see why McVay never let him do it. This offense is objectively worse than it was under Zimmer/Baby Kubes, and doesn't seem to be getting any better, which is what I look for, progress, but KOC isn't showing any. But hey, maybe he's limited in what he can do because of Cousins, so I'm willing to let him pick his own guy to see how that goes.

Although I'm not holding my breath there either because he's never developed a QB anywhere he's been. He's never elevated a single QB he's inherited to be better than what they were, anywhere. I'm still trying to figure out why people even think he's an offensive guru. I'm just not seeing it. Because he fetched coffee for McVay? All I know is, after the magical 8-1 start last year, it seems like this team has been stuck in reverse, and it reversed itself all the back to the Zimmer era. I guess all that hugs and rainbows stuff has a shelf life, and we're finding out how they deal with adversity, and so far it's not looking good.

I didn't get the memo, are we in the rebuild phase of this oxymoronic competitive rebuild plan now lol? I didn't call for anyone to be fired, yet, I just asked for a list of those quality players that Kwesi has acquired that Poles missed out on.

My eyeballs are telling me things don't exactly seem to be going very well. Not in a "hey, we're rebuilding and just going through some growing pains" type thing, but more like a "hey, this sure the hell doesn't look like part of the plan" type thing.

That would become his new best move in my book, if it ever happens. I'm not exactly going to hold me breath that it will, until it does. They could very well hand Kirk another lucrative 2 year extension, complete with another NTC. Which will probably move me immediately into "fire everyone" mode xD. Because I don't see them letting him walk for nothing when they don't have a plan to replace him. Not this play it safe franchise. That would be too bold.

I'm just saying, I'm going scorched earth if I have to watch 2 more years of this gravitational pull toward .500. I'm sick of the whole aww shucks quirky dad of the year routine. It's as authentic as an episode of Duck Dynasty. I would rather go 5-12 trying to develop some QBotF than go through 2 more years of 8-9 with this divisive Kirko Chainz crap. I'm done! I want off this ride. Do something different. Start Mannion for 2 years if we have to. Just find a new way to torture us.
