We owe it all next season.
Doesn't it hit immediately? Regardless, the dead cap hit, whatever that value is, will be offset by the savings of what is owed to Kirk for the remainder of the year. If it hits immediately, we may need to restructure someone(s).
It would cost them less than $10M in cap space and net them a compensatory pick if he walks next Spring
They will get no comp pick. He hasn't been with the team a full season. To make the trade worthwhile to us, it would have to be at least the value of the comp pick we would lose by letting him stay.
Kirk doesn't want any part of these stupid questions. Love it.
The perfect Bill B non-answer... On to Chicago
Well you're welcome to be all salty about it but the team is unlikely to trade Kirk, and less likely to decide that a 3rd round pick justifies even bothering with the move
If he stays, he probably nets an end of 3rd round pick in 2025. If he's traded we get (at a minimum) a late 3rd round pick in 2024 plus likely a few more losses that would otherwise be wins. That absolutely justifies the move. Granted right now, there's probably 2 bidders, the Jets and the Falcons and perhaps a dark horse with the Colts if Richardson is out longer and Mishnew doesn't get the job done or Patriots if Bill B gets desperate as his seat is getting warm. That can change with injuries obviously.
