Last year's draft had 9 trades and 2 of them involved WR's switching teams. This fact makes this year's draft interesting for sure, especially with all of the names swirling around as trade bait. I'm no pundit, but I'll give it a go again. And as always, just for fun. Thanks for any input and opinions in advance. Here goes nothing.
1) Car – QB Bryce Young, Bama - seems to be the consensus #1 pick at this point
2) Hou – DE Tyree Wilson, Tx Tech – I know, but DeMeco is a defensive guy & I can see them liking McKee/Hooker/LANCE day 2.
3) Ariz – tr Tenn (11, RB D. Henry) – QB Will Levis, Kenty - (if Philly can be linked to Henry, why not their ex-DC)
4) Indy – QB CJ Stroud, OSU - can immediately start, Titans jumping ahead solves the inner team debates at QB
5) Sea – EDGE Will Anderson Jr, Bama - great fit for scheme
6) Det – CB Devon Witherspoon, ILL - they love this guy
7) LV – QB Anthony Richardson, Fla - lady luck strikes for Raiders future
8) Atl – DT Jalen Carter, GA - interior pressure to help Okudah & Campbell FA signings/trades
9) Chi – OT Peter Skoronski, NW’ern - they missed on McGlinchey and need serious help for Fields
10) Philly – DE Myles Murphy, Clem - Eagles need to get better D-line performances from players
11) Tenn – Ariz – CB Christian Gonzalez, Oregon - his sister is David Bough's wife, & the DB room is kind of thin
12) Hou – CB Joey Porter, PSU - Stingley is oft injured, need one stable CB
13) NYJ – LT Paris Johnson, OSU - another OT for the Jets
14) NE – tr Det (18,81, get 197) - DE Lucas Van Ness, Iowa - feels Dan Campbell type of guy
15) GB – tr NO (29, swap 2nd) – RB Bijan Robinson, Tx - Alvin Kamera's future is uncertain and expensive for the team
16) Wash – CB Deonte Banks, Maryland - DB's were the weakness of the defense last year
17) Pitt – OT Anton Harrison, OKLA - protect Pickett so he can grow in year 2
18) Det – NE - S Brian Branch, Bama - McCourty retired, Bama connection
19) TB – tr KC (31, 63) – DT Bryan Bresee, Clem - jump LAC and can gradually work him in rotation
20) Sea – WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, OSU - Hawks don't really have a 3rd WR, he's the best slot optoin
21) LAC – WR Jordan Addison, USC - slot this year, eventual replacement for K Allen
22) Balt – DE Nolan Smith, GA - putting aside Lamar's wishes, this is an area of concern
23) Minn – tr PHI (30, 62 get 119) – DT Calijah Kancey Pitt - Jordan Davis can hide his undersized build
24) Jax – OT Broderick Jones, GA - the other bookend OT for Trevor Lawrence
25) NYG – OC John Michael Schmitz, Minn - all the $$$ in Jones/Barkley, better solidify IOL area
26) Dal – OLB Will McDonald IV, Iowa St - he would just make that defense even scarier
27) Buff – WR Zay Flowers, BC - Josh Allen hinted they want to pass more, nice fit with Diggs & Davis
28) Cincy – TE Darnell Washington, GA - they signed Irv Smith Jr but need a blocking TE
29) NO – GB – TE Michael Mayer, ND - a new TE weapon for a young QB makes sense
30) Philly – Minn – DE Keion White, GA Tech - a bit raw still, but B Flo can figure out how to rotate him in
31) KC – TB – OT Darnell Wright, Tenn - just start rebuilding
Note: Quinten Johnson wasn't invited to the green room, but Keion White was, so I went with him for the Vikings here just to squeeze him in the 1st round.
