They have a top 10 PRO BOWL QB in his prime whose cost is reasonable and never gets hurt they do not need a QB for at least 3 years... meanwhile they have 1 average NFL starting CB with injury history and 2 drafted unproven CBs with injury history maybe they never come back Booth JR was terrible before his injury Evans was okay (they couldn't be bothered to re-sign the #2 CB in the NFL via PFF for a little over a million dollars in Duke smh) this is a passing league by the way you need multiple CBs on the field.
They are okay at Safety even if Cine busts or never recovers they have 3 NFL players there. But the LBs are woeful neither ZDarius nor Hunter are actual OLBs neither are any good in drop backs. The other LB is too slow and the other LB has never shown he can be an NFL starter. They have 2 very average DTs that is it for DT quality. They added another DE who cannot play OLB in Davenport with again injury history. That is on the defensive side.
On the offensive side you have a weak run blocking line a run blocking TE will not fix that. Darrisaw was not the same after his multiple concussions. No guarantee O Neil returns to same level he was a little below that level before he as hurt. The 2 GUARDS flat out suck and the CENTER is not much better... the 2 Guards allowed the most pressures in the NFL. If we had any other QB except Kirk that QB would have been out for the year look at the hellacious hits he took against teams with good DTs no QB in the NFL took more hits then Kirk. QBs get hurt behind good OLs imagine any QB but Kirk behind our terrible Pass Pros IOL.
This team does not have a deep threat WR or a legitimate #2 WR even with Adam here we did not have that. We are good at TE with TJ. No idea what the idea is behind signing an old FB and a back up not very good RB.
So this team is excellent at QB OTs (injury concerns) WR1 WR3 TE TE2 S DE (not rushing OLB so does 3-4 make sense Flores runs a 3-4) and P but this team has huge holes: at Guard 1 Guard 2 Center CB2 DT1 WR2 CB3 and the kicker has issues too so what is the focus let's get in on a new QB. HUH?
PS Signing FAs and Drafting players for stock market value (1st round busts and/or injury history doesn't pan out most of the time it is a way to quickly wreck a team) the only value in the NFL is actual production.
