And having JJ is more of a guarantee to help with that than proposed draft picks, especially when KAM's first draft has been ranked dead last.
Ill speak to that, there is almost zero chance JJ gets traded or moved. It would be devastate the fanbase. There are scads of Viking fans who just wind up and gush because JJ is here. Heck Flores kids wanted to come here because of JJ.
There is a flip side to this and the Chiefs nailed it. You can't pay a WR 30 million and a quarterback 40 and keep the team competitive. Devonte Adams absurd contract with the Raiders created this pitfall. But I have to agree keeping JJ and Cousins keeps the Vikings at least mediocre.
Gotta tip my hat to what the Eagles have done tho, they have as much draft capital as any team in the league and they were the clear cut best NFC team last year. That takes talent. Have to admire how they got rid of Wentz and went to Hurts, a lot of teams wouldnt of, at the time Wentz wasnt that bad, and Eagles really were not loaded at wide receiver.
Maybe we should go back and evaluate the defense last year again. Is it possible that the scheme was so bad that it made HIcks and Kendricks look worse then they actually were? ( If the scheme is more then 50 percent responsible we should rethink this. The Eagles had a lot of older players who played at a high level last year.)
