Not a Kirk Problem, But Kirk isn't the solution

There's also rubes out there who want to trade our next 2 firsts and a few seconds for Jackson and then give him a 5 year 250M guaranteed contract... Honestly, doing the Mond thing would be a safer bet... we'd at least have been picking pretty high this year.
I'd argue Kirk, if he had cost less, probably made sense for this team b/c you could have put a team around him. That, I think, is where Brady really shined. You can look at Brady's year over year stats. He was rarely (if ever?) a top 5 guy each season, yet he's a first ballot HOFer... because of his rings, not because of what he did at his position. That's wrong to some extent, and it really shows just how over valued the QB position has become in this game. Brady is a smart player. I'll go as far as to say that I would rate Brady's QB IQ in the same way I'd rate Bellichick's coaching IQ... both were/are head and shoulders above their peers in that area. But it is not Brady's talent that will put him into the hall. I think Raptorman is essentially saying that in other threads. Brady has always been on better teams and is willing to be paid less to be on better teams because he cares more about rings on his fingers than he does his paycheck. Not to mention those rings open up other avenues for getting paid. Kirk never did that, and I don't think he's going to age quite as well as Brady did... call me crazy.
I don't want to knock Brady to be clear. He deserves to be there, but I think that does bring us to our problem. Kirk has historically taken far more money than he's been worth for his production. He's a good not great QB that has some flaws... and unfortunately, they get magnified by certain things that this team's FO hasn't been able to fix... and I'd add by things that will always be on display against elite teams. He could have Philly's line. He will still have some bad drives against an elite defense because he's not that mobile and tends to be a bit slow making his reads. To the OPs point, he's not the solution.
Back to your point andhesloose28, I'm personally not a huge fan of trading multiple firsts, but yeah, I think at some point you probably have to sacrifice a couple to get the right guy. I won't argue that. Of course it doesn't look like it's going to be this year (not a deep class), and we literally have zero capital, so it's another year of the can being kicked down the road. I assume Kwesi and KOC are keeping an eye on that talent they plan on developing... I do hope they find it soon, but thus far, I'm not encouraged. As I see it, they pretty much have to add another year to Kirk's contract and hope and pray he's willing to play ball. As I see it, we're pretty much forced to draft a guy next year.
