I try to do one of these a year. A lot of work and I understand none of my cuts, FAs and draft picks ever happen. None the less I try to build a winning team, or what I feel would be a winning team. I use different cap sites, draft sites and a manage the cap site to make sure all this would be possible in terms of cap and where players are picked in the draft by round projection

After watching the successful teams in the playoffs I cut certain players and focus on different areas of the roster for my FAs and draft picks.

Welp, here is my 2023 mock depth chart that I think would be very competitive

Curious to see where you think I left the roster weak? My concerns would be LB depth and can Ingram hold up at that G spot. I could see Vorhees battling him for the starting spot though.

This is a solid plan, feels like a pretty vanilla approach to what could happen. Not a bad plan to use as a base and modify to see what you might like better.

Gotta love the kicker FA signing, boy it would be nice to have a great kicker!

More feeling like I would like a WR who could also stretch the field and be a good route runner. Also an RB who could catch the ball in traffic. Do not like our defense projection, so may just have to try and outscore them.

Agree with you. I will probably add 1 more offseason roster scenario before new league year and that is something I will look at

sadly, Kwesi didn't like your plan during the FA moves, but they still got Murphy. I liked it a lot, btw.

So here we are in April, with very little draft capital and still have too many holes to fill. I'll take a shot with the draft first. Let's say the Vikings trade the 23rd overall (maybe another trade or 3) to get 8 picks. Here is a more fun thought process than actual wish list, but kind of close for me. Notice some connections.

WR Cedric Tillman, Tenn - went to HS with Nailor & DTR, also teammate of RB's Ty Chandler & Eric Gray at Tenn
LB Daiyan Henley, WSU - I just like him, replace Hicks on passing downs and the future ILB with Asamoah
DT Keeanu Benton, Wisc - fits Uncle's mold for a Flores type DL, UW has been churning out solid D players for the NFL.
CB Jartavius Martin, ILL - can play slot right away, versatile DB and tough vs run
DE Karl Brooks, BG - small school/combine snub, but worth a flier on day 3, again Flores mold for DL
QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA - HS track buddy of Nailor, back-up QB of future
RB Eric Gray, OKLA - originally at Tenn with Chandler and Tillman, smallish yet violent runner
IOL Brent Liang, UMD - sold me on the pancake block video, hometown value pick, Ezra's replacement in 2024.
*trade a day 3 pick to Miami for WR Cedric Wilson ($6M vs cap in '23, $7M in '24) - the 8th pick

I'll leave it to Kwesi to do the wheeling and dealing to get this done on draft days.

Now for some Summertime fun (after June 1st).

IF trade occurs with Cousins to SF for Lance and 2024 draft picks, this would be a $7M savings in '23.
If Z Smith still wants out, trade him for an extra $13+M in savings, they going to need the $$$.
trade Dalvin Cook for some 2024 draft picks and now save $11M this year.

sign CB Rock Ya-Sin to a 1 year prove it deal, good year last year in LV, roughly $10M
sign LB Kyle Van Noy to a 1 year deal, depth at LB, he's old but he follows Flores everywhere. Vet Min.

Now get those new contracts for JJ, Hock, and Hunter. Maybe throw in Darrisaw plan too. If no Cousins trade then at least the Vikings can get some 2024 draft picks to help snag a QB next year.
