10. John Michael Schmitz, OC, Minnesota

You could argue there was no better offensive lineman at the Senior Bowl than the Minnesota center. Schmitz is powerful, agile, aggressive and he moves great in space as a pulling blocker. He has legit late-first ability and could be the answer to OL problems in places like Dallas, the NY Giants and Bills.

9. Keeanu Benton, DT, Wisconsin

Benton had first round hype heading into the season but didn’t quite take the next step as a pass-rusher on tape. He sure did at the Senior Bowl. Benton’s quickness and his toolbox full of pass rush moves helped his draft status immensely. He’s a solid Round 2 candidate.

8. Derick Hall, DE, Auburn

Hall started the week off well measuring in at 6’3 1/2” and 241 pounds—both great numbers for him. He’s a true stand-up rusher who will want to play in space to use his length and speed to beat NFL tackles. He’s a late first-rounder who might slip to the early second round, but not much farther.

7. Julius Brents, CB, Kansas State

Brents was the talk of the town after the first day of practice and had an overall very good week. He’s a big cornerback at almost 6’4” and routinely man-handles receivers at the line of scrimmage. Brents won’t be for every defense, but if you run a lot of Cover 3 he’s your guy.

6. K.J. Henry, DE, Clemson

A sleeper on the Clemson defensive line behind prospects Myles Murphy and Bryan Bresee, Henry represented the group well at the Senior Bowl. Henry has easy movement ability in space and projects well as an outsider rusher who can play rotational minutes as a rookie.

5. Tyjae Spears, RB, Tulane

Once Texas running back Roschon Johnson was pulled after Day 1 due to a broken bone in his hand, Spears stood out as the best running back in Mobile. Spears’ speed is notable, but it was his receiving ability and the intensity he showed in pass protection drills that wowed me. He’s probably not a Day 2 player, but as an early Day 3 pick he’ll play early minutes.

4. Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State

With Michael Mayer (Notre Dame) and Dalton Kincaid (Utah) not eligible to attend and hurt, respectively, Musgrave was the best tight end at the Senior Bowl. He’s powerful, has good athletic ability, and is sure-handed over the middle. I don’t see Musgrave as a first-round lock given the value of the position and the talent in this class, but he’s certainly impressive.

3. Michael Wilson, WR, Stanford

The Stanford offense was so bad in 2022 that it makes sense we overlooked a player with 26 catches. Wilson couldn’t be overlooked in Mobile. The 6’1”, 216 pound receiver has awesome burst off the line and plays every single play like it’s his last. Picture the receiver version of Isaih Pacheco. But unlike Pacheco, Wilson won’t be a seventh-round pick.

2. The Brown Twins—Chase and Sydney

It’s hard to pick between the two for the biggest winner, so let’s include them both. Chase, the running back, is a powerful runner who charges hard through would-be tacklers. There aren’t many of those in an all-star game, but Brown’s burst and ability in passing situations as a receiver and blocker impressed.

Sydney, the safety, stole the show. He’s a rocked-up, physical safety who has a powerful frame and the all-around athleticism to play high-low safety in the pros.

1. Keion White, DE, Georgia Tech

Brown was the best player in Mobile and it wasn’t really close. It was surprising to see how few media members were on White before the week began, but perhaps they were waiting to see how well the 6’5”, 280 pound defender would operate in space. He did just fine, and cemented himself as a first round pick.
