He can be a part of it, as long as you yank him out of critical games at the critical time, which of course you can't do. He became a regular season hero last year but still has 4th and 8 written on his forehead. Yes i know the smart people have made excuses for that but such folly is entirely expected and is part of the Kirk Cousins brand.
Would i love to be wrong about the 2023 Kirk, and believe he finally turned the corner and found the missing synapses in his head? Meh. I'm too tired of it. Even if Kirk Cousins suddenly became the purple SB MVP I'd have a hard time getting behind him. I know too much and have waited too long for him to find it. It's better bet to find a quarterback who can overcome the mistakes of a team than find 52 perfect guys to surround a flawed QB.
Tied at 24-24 no one ever talks about the defense on the Giant Final scoring drive. 19 yard pass here, 14 yard pass there, another 11 yards pass, oh look another 10 yard pass. Nope, no one b*tches about that. Why, oh yeah, the QB is suppose to save the effing day. Or how about 4 and 1 at the MN 7. Oh look, 2 yard run for first down. Why does no one talk about that? Because that would mean actually talking about another part of the game where they can't blame one person. 11+ yards per completed pass on that drive. Jones isn't that good of QB. The defense made him look like Tom Brady.
But let's talk abbot 4th and 8.
The team is not perfect and never will be, thanks for making my point. Kirk needs perfection around him, like a defense that will put us up by so many points that he can't flub it away. It makes more sense to try and find a QB who can pull IMPORTANT wins out of his butt than try and find 52 perfect teammates.
... and neither is this Chris guy.
