With the Bucs coming into town on Sunday, we'll take a look at their depth chart and see their strengths and weaknesses.
-My thoughts-
On offense, the Bucs have plenty of weapons for Winston to utilize. Evans will probably get shut down by Rhodes (I was wrong last week to say Brown would beat Rhodes. My apologizes for underestimating Xavier) and the Bucs will probably scheme ways to get Evans the ball away from Rhodes. Jackson's a solid deep threat, Humphries is your classic possession WR who can move the chains, and Godwin is a rookie who I think will eventually become a starter, but he probably won't factor in today.
The Bucs have one of the best right tackles in the NFL in Demar Dotson, but their left side of the O-line is an eyesore. Smith has been terrible at LT for 2 years and he'll be going on his third. Pamphile has never been good. The Vikings will need to take advantage of these matchups because Winston will beat this defense if he gets too much time in the pocket.
On defense, the Bucs stack up better than I remember. Their depth is pretty poor outside of the safety position, however. The Bucs have 3 guys who could be good starters at safety, but for some reason they keep starting Chris Conte, who's been a liability his entire NFL career. Perhaps Ward will usurp his starting role at some point this season. Oh, and that Josh Robinson is the same Josh Robinson who played CB here. He's making $3.125M this season to be the 5th safety on the team...
Outside of that, their front seven looks really good. Beckwith is a third round rookie who's been fantastic the first couple games of the season. The CB position could be a spot where Diggs and Thielen take advantage of a old Brent Grimes and still-learning Vernon Hargreaves.
Any thoughts about the Buccaneers?
