It does seem ridiculous. If Mahomes had that statline, Sam Monson would put on lipstick and lingerie and show up up at Pat's house with a bouquet of flowers.
An example of this would be a pass thrown on 3rd and 8 for 6 yards is graded the exact same way a pass thrown for 6 yards on 3rd and 5 would be. One is a negative result, the other a positive, yet both are graded the same. It is why PFF grades are always so much more positive for QBs than any other position out there. It is easy to have a positive play as a QB. It is not easy for a QB to have a positive result. Leading a TD drive for instance, is a positive result that is hard for bad QBs to do, while averaging 6 yards per attempt(a positive play) is easy even for the worst starting QB.
So while Cousins net result on Saturday was positive, over half his plays were bad, bringing his average grade down despite the positive graded plays leading to a more successful result than the negative plays lead to a negative result.
In other words, don't look at PFF grades for QBs.
