10 years and 1 playoff win. His .500 record coming into the season is part of it as well. Again I say it's not disrespect or "hate" to point out actual records in big games or overall. It reporting facts.
I listen to more podcasts and post game recaps this year then I have in a few years. I say he is getting respect for what he's doing this year with these comeback wins. Don't blame media or especially his fan base if not proving it in the playoffs is still a huddle for him.

Just to be clear not Kirk Cousins at all. Patrick Ewing is 100% one of the greatest players ever to play in the NBA. He's a member of the all-time top 50 team the NBA put out years back and is one of the greatest centers to ever step foot in the NBA.

I think the Vikings playoff failures ultimately is more a Minnesota Vikings problem than a Kirk Cousins problem to be quite honest. We are just a franchise that hasn't gotten it done ever. And unfortunately this year will be no different. But again if that's the only metric somebody call Dan Marino and Patrick Ewing and tell them they are a piece of sh*t. Again I'm not putting Kirk Cousins on that level, obviously not, I'm just applying the formula that you're laying out.

I've never once said Kirk Cousins is one of the greatest players in the NFL. What I've maintained from the get-go is this guy is good enough to win with don't worry about your quarterback for now fix other stuff around him because you can 100% win with Kirk Cousins. And I think that has been proven now. Unfortunately he's at the end of his ropes and he's going to get old and become undone within these next couple years.

Bottom line: You "can" win a Super Bowl with Kirk Cousins as your quarterback. Unfortunately you can't with this defense. And I think a lot of people would deny that even today to protect their ego.

Well now that that narrative has proven to be the wrong narrative as it would be kind of foolish to suggest that he's never going to be able to lead that game-winning drive or come back from a deficit on his arm and so forth... I guess the question then becomes were those people just unable to read between the lines that they needed to patch the o line and maybe have a better offensive mind controlling the offense and so on... I really doubt he just decided to develop at 34 years old or whatever he is. It obviously was always there I always thought it was and I just never thought that you had to be the best quarterback in the league to win the Super Bowl. I think there's a good enough standard like an Eli Manning or Joe flacco. And I know Philip Rivers never won the Super Bowl but he was another guy who would have been good enough. Etc... The knock that people always had was he chose when you need that must have Drive... Clearly not the case....

And here are some other food for thought... For the people who wanted to scrap Kirk Cousins and draft a quarterback before this season imagine missing out on this season regardless of how it's most likely going to end with a playoff loss but for one of these putrid quarterbacks that came out this year we would have set the franchise back at least half a decade...

Last season was a total wash of a season when the ownership kept Spielman and Zimmer and Cousins together. Three seasons of seeing this have the chemistry of bleach and ammonia should have been enough. That last season is on ownership being shockingly ignorant for people involved with owning an NFL team.

Also, people NEVER say it, but some people hate him over being such a known Christian and some people are never going to be able to get over him being correct about those experimental mRNA drugs being dangerous pieces of crap.

Anything is possible, but I prefer to pursue options that give the team the best chance at winning it all, so the Vikings shouldn't start me at QB if they want to give themselves the best chance at winning the SB, and they probably shouldn't start Kirk Cousins either if a championship is their final goal, which it isn't.

Yeah true but baseball has evolved to the point fewer pitchers finish games. You ain't pulling your QB for a left hander to get you through one series in the 3rd quarter. There is only one closer in football so his win loss record is relevant to his success and the teams. Kirk has definitely been a closer this year. His 3rd quarters need work but I complain less then many about that. It is a team game and the defense needs to get stops if the offense stalls for a few series.

If being a Viking fan was easy ~ everyone would do it.

That is true but let's be honest who really thought they were getting a Hall of Fame quarterback that was going to be the missing piece when we signed him???

That approach is probably simple-minded from the get-go...

As to your last point that's interesting... Yes for some reason it's in Vogue to hate on Christians but as far as the fact that he was right about the vaccine the truth is people didn't like him even before that.

I see no regression. He still as durable and tough as any QB in the league, he still makes extremely accurate throws and can drop the ball in tight windows, simply looking at stats doesn't always paint the pictures sometimes it does if the stats are down and he wasn't the most clutch QB in the NFL this season and we were a losing team then I would be concerned. Plus it's an entirely new scheme so we don't know if maybe we are making more risky play calls that have a higher reward to success rate.

It's somewhat exaggerated as the drop in stats as that he will likely end the season with hundreds of more yards than last year close to the same touchdowns and a few more ints which could be because we're taking more shots. And ultimately I just don't care why. I want the team to surprise me and to win a Super Bowl this year. I don't think it's going to happen but in the back of my mind do I have false hope that it could of course I'm a sucker for this team for 35 plus years.

But you just go ahead and get excited about a first round bounce so that you could ask strangers on a message board about the QB wins stat. Doh-k...

Maybe he is heating up at the right time he has 885 yards in the past 2 weeks... Maybe he goes Joe flacco in the playoffs and the defense gets their crap together... Albeit and admittedly that is probably just my false hope that I always have because I am a sucker for this team. I admit that 100 million percent...
