"The Jets will win a close one against the Vikings."
I truly believe in this team. Can't wait to see the Sauce/DB matchup against JJ. Will the Jets pressure/sack Cousins consistently throughout the game? Will the Vikings open big holes so Cook runs wild? My thought is this game hinges on defense. If the defense can contain the Vikings (for the most part), and slow down their high powered offense, they will win. White just has to be decent, play clean and cautious, and the offense will score enough points to win. Of course, they need to limit penalties and refrain from special teams blunders. What say you? LGJ!!!!

White is still a wildcard, no idea how he will do so it all comes down to how he plays.
I think the jets will win on Sunday rather easily.
Friends, the NFL is a match up league. The Jets match up extremely well vs. the Vikings. Static QB, who is average under pressure but takes a ton of sacks vs. the Jets who create pressure with their front 4 better than anyone. Which allows their lock down corners who match up very well w/ the Vikings WR's, to do their thing while they have a veteran Safety duo that does a great job of preventing the big play. A true field leader in the middle who has incredible presnap recognition and does a great job of playing the run, which, the Vikings dont do very well, and the Jets do a great job of shutting down. So, basically, the Jets D is going to make the Vikings 1 dimensional, and the plays into the favor of the Jets pass rush and pass D.
This will 100% go to the 4th quarter and the better team will rise to the occasion and the better, more well rounded team who has the best 4th quarter defense in the NFL, is the NY Jets. The Vikings D sucks donkey balls, Smith is the only threat of a pass rush and Mike White's ability to get the ball out fast, to multiple receivers and find check downs quickly, should negate this threat. The Vikings dont defend the run very well either, giving up 4.4 per carry and they're absolutely terrible at defending RB's out of the backfield, which is a strength of White's check down game and aligns w/ Knight and Johnson's strengths. The Jets should win this game. They are the better Football team and match up very well to the Vikings.

Jets defense has been really good this year. But Vikings are going to be a real test. Jefferson, Thielen, Hockenson, Cook. They have tons of playmakers, and can keep the jets off balance. I expect the jets to have their hands full.
Our running game will be critical. White will be competent. Suit Streveler up!
9-2 is no joke, however, Minnesota has the potential to be outright manhandled. It’s certainly possible that the matchups favor the Jets; however, I still think it’s a close game with the Jets winning in the end.
I think we match up well. However, the VIkings are home and have had 10 days to prepare.
Tough game, but I smell a dub.

I agree. The Vikings are going to score. Keeping them under 20 would be a big win for the defense.
I think the Mike White's are going to have to put up a lot of points to win.

I hate that I'm confident.
Maybe this team is different and it all changes, but usually the moment I get confident is when the full on collapse hits...Especially feeling good about beating a 9-2 team and the idea that I believe we're the better team is super fun but...
Usually doesn't end well for the Jets.

I think the way Dallas defensive line manhandled the Vikings o line in their win and the fact that the Jets d line is every bit as good as Dallas’s the Jets will win. Maybe not in such a rout but by a comfortable margin 🙏.
Now everytime I feel the confidence in a Jets victory they unfailingly lose that’s why I don’t bet on this dam team and why they are frustrating as hell

Exactly how I felt going into the Pats game only to come out a DUD on the other end. Hope that doesn't happen this time around. D needs to play a near flawless game like we did against the Bills. If that happens, then we come out with the W.
Given how the Vikings have played all year, I'd expect nothing less than more of the same. i.e. a very close and competitive game in their house.
It could go either way, dependng on who executes best. Or who gives up an untimely tunrover.

We're going to go into Minnesota and take care of business.
When the Vikings win, it’s a close one. When they lose, it’s a blowout.
Their point differential is +5 as a 9-2 team. If it’s a close game the Vikings will win.
The Jets have to close the game out before MIN can.

If the Jets D can stop Cook and the Vikings run game, they will win. If Cousins has to pass, it means the DL gets to pin its ears back, and all the good weapons he has will go to waste because pressure makes him a bad QB. I am not worried about the Jets offense - I believe they will carry their weight to the tune of 25-35 points. Jets 30, Vikings 17.
For some reason I feel an off game coming for the defense. I still believe they are excellent and one of the best in the NFL, but every team/squad has an off game. They've just been so strong. Not that I think the Vikings will score even 30, but I see a 27-24 score either way.
Its really about MFW and him keeping the offense moving. If our O can score mid 20's, we can beat anyone.
Another game that feels important and meaningful, December edition!
JD for president!

The Jets have been a good road team this year.
If they can get good consistent pressure on Cousins rushing four, good things will happen. If Mike White can continue to make quick decisions without turning the ball over, good things will happen.

The Vikings are not 9-2 for nothing, this is going to be a very tough road test for this team. Certainly glad we will have MW under center for this one.
Sheldon Rankins playing is huge. Clog the running lanes and getting that push upfront to pressure Cousins gonna be crucial.
Love our D. I think Jefferson will get the PI calls if Sauce assaults him the way he has assaulted lesser WR without getting flagged. MN D isn't very good but it's much better than what Chicago put on the field last week. MN also has gotten a lot of turnovers. Could be luck but I think we have to be at least even on turnovers.
Think we need at least 24 to win this game. We find out a lot more about Mike White this week.

JJ will get his yards as will Cook... the question is, how many yards can each get that doesn't hurt us?
Vikings are gonna move the ball as do most teams vs the Jets the key will be forcing as many FGs as possible and turnovers...it's strange I'm not even worried about White and the offense I think they will score points.
Clete Blakeman's crew assigned to this game.
They consistently call a tight game with a lot of flags. His crew is second in the league this year averaging 16 penalty flags per game.
Might not be good for our "handsy" DBs.
www.nflpenalties.com/all-referees.php?view=total&year=2022
Note however, Blakeman's crew did ref the Jets/GB game with Sauce being targeted 7 times with no penalties called. Not sure if there were any of those real "handsy" incidents in that game.

we are the opposite of a "public team" in Vegas - the fact that the line is only 3, in and of itself, tells you that we have a good shot in this game.
The only thing I can't get out of my head are the late season collapses of seasons past.
I think of 1993. Jets acquire Boomer and start 8-5, only to lose their last three games and miss the playoffs, mainly because they couldn't score any points.
I think of 1997, when we started 8-4 with the Tuna, only to lose 3 out of our last 4 games, including the classic loss in Detroit in the final game of the year. No playoffs.
I think of 2000, when we started 6-1 (and were later 9-4), only to lose our last three games of the season, including a devastating loss at home to the lowly Lions in week 16 followed by the notorious Christmas Eve game in Baltimore in week 17, when Vinny T and our special teams threw the season away. Chris McAlister (and Jermaine Lewis) are still running.
I think of 2008, when we started 8-3 and then lost 4 of our last 5 to miss the playoffs with one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. Chad Pennington clinching the division in our building was a poetic end to an all-time SOJ collapse.
I think of 2011, when, despite some early season turmoil, we rebounded to get to 8-5, only to lose our last three games, including the Christmas Eve disaster that propelled Coughlin and Eli to another SB title. Victor Cruz is still running.
And although I was alive, I am not old enough to remember the 1986 collapse in which we started 10-1 and finished 10-6. At least we made the playoffs that year and even won a playoff game - only for the double OT disaster in Cleveland to happen.
As much as I believe in this very talented young team, I am conditioned to not expect to beat anybody.

We will kick their ass. I have watched them play. Jefferson is everything they say. But he is alone out there. The others are not healthy or playing well. Reed, Echols and MC2 will shut them down while Sauce shadows Jefferson. Hockenson just got there. If they force it to him, we will pick it off. Remember, we only rush four. Our defense underneath is much improved since we stopped blitzing and installed man coverage. Cook will get his yards and Cousins never misses a gimmee. The Vikings feast on defensive mistakes. Lately, we are not making any.
We play our game and we will shut them down. The Vikings are not great on defense. White will score on them. I actually expect an easy game. I think they are no match for us. Jefferson has been too much for other team's #1 corners. That is not a problem here. 24-10 with a garbage time score for Minny.

Vikings D is not good - especially the pass D. We should rack up the points like the Pats did - but more.
Hate being optimistic but Jets win handily.
Heres what else I think I know…
Vikings offense has only scored well vs. one legit defense: the Bills. Every other defense they’ve played at our level has kept them in check.
If we can limit Dalvin Cook’s yards after contact, I think we can keep him modest.
Most importantly… Their OL is spotty. Our DL gets pressure only being 4. I think this gives us the opportunity to attack and expose Cousins. If he doesn’t have time, then I don’t think the chunk plays to Jefferson kill us.
Hockenson may be their most dangerous weapon vs. our defense, and I’m good with that. Dump offs to him means we’re not getting beat over the top.

We have a very good shot against the Vikings next week. Game is indoors so no weather issues and Cousins can be pressured. We need to run the ball well.
This just feels like a game the Jets should kick the teeth in but they come away with a loss. If they smack this hollow douche team, they might actually make noise in the playoffs.
This game will reveal if White really is legit and if the Jets really are a deserving playoff team.
Talk about a primetime 1 on 1 matchup...
JEFFERSON VS. SAUCE
Should be a epic test

Nobody hold me hostage for this but I think we will win this game by at least a TD.
Minnesota's strengths matches well against our strength. We will find a way to stop Vikes and run the ball on them and win.

One thing today is I noticed is that they won the 50/50 balls. Jefferson and Cousins have that down to a science. Other issue is Dalvin Cook is the truth. We don’t have the best run defense.
Just need to keep the “explosives” at bay.
Just need to keep the “explosives” at bay.
The Vikings are 9-2, but they've won a ton of one score games. Stopping Jefferson and Cook is something this defense is capable of doing. I like our chances if those two are neutralized.
If White plays well, we should win this game; the Vikings aren't as good as their record. But it's going to be tougher for him than it was against the Bears.
Jefferson is on another planet right now. He scares the crap out of me. I don't care how good our corners are.
Fun facts Jets vs Vikings:
The Jets are 8-3 lifetime vs the Vikings with the Vikings winning last two matchups.
The Jets at one point won
7 straight games in the series (1979-2010)
The two teams once went 11 seasons without a single meeting (1983-93)
Sunday’s game will mark the first meeting in the Vikings new stadium (U.S. Bank Stadium). This will be the 7th different stadium that the two teams have played against each other in. The previous 6 being: Shea Stadium, Metropolitan Stadium, The Metro dome, Meadowlands I, Meadowlands II, Huntington Bank Stadium.

Seems like a better matchup for the Jets than some might assume. Jefferson is dangerous, but the Jets have the CB’s to contain him. They’ve shut down J.Chase and T.Hill, and kept Diggs under 100 yards. The Vikings secondary can be exploited if Mike White can keep some of that momentum going from the Bears game.
It’s going to be a tough game on the road, but this is a winnable game. The Jets are getting national attention. It’s being televised on CBS in CA.

I don't personally believe that the Vikings are quite as good as their record says. That being said I do believe that while this certainly won't be just a walk in the park for the Jets it is very much winnable. The tackling needs to be much better this Sunday and a strong QB rush performance is a must. The coon cat and I are betting on the Jets.
There are two things that definitely appear to be the Vikings downfalls, their defense and Kirk Cousins. Mike White needs to continue to be that consistent game manager and the Jets will score points. Now for Kirk Cousins, hit him, sack him and pressure him. Rattle him in the pocket all game and don’t give him time to the ball to their weapons. They have some great ones. Even more proven than the ones we have!
Look. The NFC sucks. They have to suck so Brady remains relevant. I don’t think he’ll have a losing record, but he could have a losing record and still host a playoff game.
That said, we should win this game.

Can we beat the Vikings this week? If we can win this game - it could be a playoff-clinching game. With 8 Wins - 5 games left - 2 of them "easy", one may be "medium" and two hard games. A win this week - pretty much guarantees 10 W season. That may get us WC spot depending on how things work out with the Bengals/Pats/Chargers. We are only 3 point underdog - so Vegas is expecting a close game.
To me this game is all about our Defense. So far - 3 teams scored more than 20 points vs our D - Pats 22, Bengals 27, Browns 30. Our Defense has to keep Vikings within 20 or lower. If we can do that, I think we'll win. I think Mike W will give us an efficient game - around 20-25 points. We just don't want to get into a shoot out.
Special Team needs to pin them down and D needs to keep them within 20 points. If that happens - I think Mike W will deliver.
Bills got "tough" games vs Pats - either way, it helps us. Phins could lose vs 49ers.
We BETTER take care of this game - because we have not been this close to the playoff in 10+ years.
