I can’t even begin to look at Arizona’s linemen on both sides of the ball because there are so many. They have 9 offensive and like 11 defensive linemen with significant snaps. Now on Thursdays injury report, they have 3 OL who haven’t participated in practice all week and another OL who is limited. I give up.
So here are 3 reasons why we will beat Arizona on Sunday
1) DEFENSE KEEPS PROGRESSING WITH AGGRESSION. I have suspected since very early in the season that this defense was going to be about building week to week. They do not want to put all their cards on the table. Instead, they are going to add brick by brick and we will only see what this defense truly is come January. Thru 7 weeks, most teams have put who they are on film. We have not. Press coverage and blitz packages are very rare in watching 6 weeks of film. That doesn’t mean we won’t see it. These elements will be added in small increments so there is always a new wrinkle our opponent hasn’t planned for.
2) KOC’S WEEK OF SELF REFLECTION. I think Kevin knows how he progresses thru a game as a play caller has left something to be desired. I am confident that he spent a lot of the bye week not only evaluating players and the offense as a whole, but also where he needs to improve. I expect to see more consistency and better in game adjustments this week.
3) BUCKING THE TREND. The Vikings haven’t won a home game after bye week since 2015. They’re something like 3-7 in the last 10 years. Who cares? This is a new year, a new regime, and a new positive outlook!
We are 5-1 with a huge divisional lead. We have a great vibe going on inside that locker room. Did anyone else notice that the 3rd guy to greet Cook in the end zone after was CB Patrick Peterson? This team is different. This Team is in a good place and the bye will only make us stronger.
