Again, not what I said...but your interpretations aren't my problem.
I do think it is moronic to be a "fan" that insists on some grander, "higher standards" babbled BS
when the best coaches/players all talk about it being the next game that matters. I know their viewpoint is far more steeped and involved in the game than mine can be, so yeah...I'll side with their take. I'll never want the team to lose in the name of some crapshoot draft picks, I'll always want the team to play its best for each win.
The strange assumption that the fans will "settle" or "be happy" with any level is bizarre. The team is one of 32, all dealing with injuries, their own levels of coaching, conditioning, locker room culture, and so on. Teams like Detroit suck for years on end, getting amazing draft position, yet still cellar-dwelling. The Rams barely beat an over-their-heads Cincy team in a Superbowl no one expected either to play in. The all-conquering Bills still haven't seen the Superbowl since Jim Kelly threw for them, Mahomes was a spectator last year and the loser the previous year.
Rodgers and Brady are currently destroying the "elite QBs can put the whole team on their backs" babble. The defending Superbowl QB is barely discussed in NFL pregame shows today. The Broncos are reeling after mortgaging their future on Ciara's chew toy.
So, I guess I don't understand what possible fan elitism can exist, what its point could be. I've yet to see anyone say that they want anything less than the Lombardi, but understand that 31 teams will NOT get it this year. All they can control is their enjoyment from game to game. In fact, that's all anyone outside the team can do, really.
So, acting haughty about other fans settling comes across as just...faked, self-declared "fan elitism" that truly comes across as a moronic waste of time.

You seriously ignored much of what I posted. Again, enjoy, or something.
