This is what a lot of fans don't understand, just because a guy hits the practice squad doesn't mean he doesn't necessarily means that he's just a "body" or a guy who will never see the field in the regular season.
If you actually looked at his tape, the kid is impressive, looks much more talented than the 3rd stringers and practice squad QBs we have brought in, in recent years. His preseason with the Broncos was VERY GOOD. Yes he was playing against guys who most likely didn't make the team but if you actually pay attention his technique, his footwork, his arm, and his ability to throw very accurately on the run, you can't help but be excited for the kid.
Just because he's not a draft pick and who wasn't highly touted coming out of college doesn't mean sleep on him. College has a lot of politics in it. Some schools hold more weight than others in the terms of being graded high by NFL scouts. You may think, "Well if he was any good, bigger colleges would've picked him up." That may be partially true, but he also switch positions like 3 times, he only had one full college season at QB.
Though he had a good season, one year of tape and at small school isn't enough to catch the scouts eye. But still got picked up by Denver and played pretty well. He definetly has things he needs to clean up but man, if someone can coach this kid up, he has potential to be great. And given our QB situation let's not forget that Bradford, Keenum, and Teddy are all in their contract year. One if not two of these guys are not coming back next season. And none of these guys we currently have, are proven franchise QBs. I bet if the Sloter sticks around for a year or two and gets quality coaching, he will probably be a backup if not in the mix to be a starter one day. I know ppl hyped of MBT and Heinicke but this kids is WAAAAAAY better than them
