Hey guys! I'm new here, just got followed by your Twitter Account (likely due to someone finding me on Twitter from Vikings Nation?) and thought I'd sign up and see what this place is all about! Here's some info on me
Name (or User Name) - ProfPigskin. This is a monicker from a lighthearted NFC North podcast that I host, Kings of the North. More on that below.
Where do you live? -
I live in the Twin Cities, in a first ring suburb. Very easy to get to US Bank.
When/why did you become a Vikings Fan?
I started watching the Vikings the year before we drafted Moss. One of my first memories is beating the Giants in the Wildcard game thanks to a big second half comeback, and then losing to the 49ers the following week. I watched the Randy Moss draft, and Randy Moss is who turned me from interested into a DIE HARD. I still love that man, and own too many posters and shirts commemorating him. Straight Cash Homey is a state of mind, and I'm always in it!
Who was/is your favorite player(s)?
STRAIGHT CASH HOMEY!
Jared Allen is obviously high on the list. I liked a lot of things about Kluwe. Watching Percy Harvin with the ball in his hands is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated fun things Vikings fans have gotten to enjoy.
As far as current Vikings, Diggs, Harrison, and Everson are at the top of the list.
What is your favorite Vikings Memory?
Minneapolis Miracle has to take this. It was simply surreal.
What is the airspeed of an unladen swallow? (haha)
A Monty Python reference?! I think I'm going to enjoy this place.
What other sports/teams do you enjoy?
I'm a Timberwolves & Lynx fan, and basketball is overall my favorite sport. However, when it comes to unreasonable emotional attachments that are likely bad for my mental health, The Vikings are #1.
What are your hobbies?
I'm pretty nerdy so I'm into things like Video Games, huge fantasy novels, and Dungeons and Dragons
I love sports and fitness, and go to the gym and play pickup basketball regularly. I also coach freshman basketball.
What is your weight? (J/K)
Depends on how recently I've gone to the bathroom
What do you do for a living?
I'm a high school teacher!
What is/are your favorite movie(s) and/or TV shows?
I'm going to try to keep this short
Movie: The Princess Bride
Comedy TV: Simpsons and Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Dramatic TV: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
What is/are your favorite book(s)?
Anything written by Brandon Sanderson.
Any other information you'd like to tell us about yourself?
I do a small hobby podcast, Kings of the North, with two friends. One is a Packers fan, and the other is fairly ambivalent and serves as a moderator and occasional Lions supporter. It is not a hardcore serious football podcast that breaks down rosters, schemes, matchups, etc, because we feel there are already a lot of things like that. Instead, it is a silly podcast that is about the weirdness of being a fan of this game. We play games, make jokes, crack open beer cans into the mic, with an emphasis on what makes being a fan of football fun. We're overall more likely to talk about Rodgers love life or Kirk Cousins grilling technique than whether Anthony Barr is capable of taking on a pulling guard in a zone blocking scheme.
I don't want to be the annoying guy who plugs his podcast over and over again, so I won't be spamming the link everywhere. However, I do have links to our social media and website on my profile, so consider checking us out!
