It was the Bridgewater injury. A play that may or may not have resulted in a SB win isn't bigger than missing out on franchise changing player(s) and that is what the Bridgewater injury may have cost us on top of also missing out on a SB in 2017.
Two alternate realities where Teddy doesn't get hurt for the Ted Heads and the people who never liked Teddy:
Teddy struggles mightily in 2016 behind a terrible Oline, goes .500 or worse OR Teddy takes a superior D than the one he had in 2015 to the playoffs and takes that next step
The Vikings trade up to draft Mahomes OR the Vikings draft Ryan Ramczyk with the pick they traded for Bradford
The Vikings go 14-2 with Mahomes at QB OR Teddy at QB
The Vikings easily beat NO in the NFCCG after they get the #1 seed because the Eagles don't have Alshon Jeffrey
Vikings win the SB
It could be the Vikings don't draft Mahomes even if Teddy sucks, but it could be we draft a bunch of busts with the picks we gave up for Walker, we lose in those SBs after moving on in the NFCCG, and it is almost a certainty that Culpepper sucks and Moss isn't enough to do anything special even if he had stuck around. So in the end, with none of these being sure thing SB victory or franchise changing decision, I go with the most recent one that is still impacting us today.
