Day 1
The Athletic:
32. Minnesota Vikings: Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
The Vikings traded 12 and 46 for 32, 34 and 66.
Cine (6-foot-2, 199) started 27 games at Georgia. Last year, he led the team in tackles (73) and had 10 passes defended and an interception. He lined up mostly as a free safety in the Bulldogs’ scheme.
Cine is a tough, physical safety who plays with tremendous energy. He committed just one penalty all of last season, per Brugler. He tested as a top-three athlete among this year’s safety class. And Cine didn’t miss a game in the past three seasons.
I love what Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah did here. He read the market well, picked up additional draft capital and got one of my favorite defensive players in this year’s draft.
Grade: A

32. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (VIA DET): S LEWIS CINE, GEORGIA
Pick Grade: Good
Lions Receive: R1 12, R2 46
Vikings Receive: R1 32, R2 34, R3 66
After trading all the way back from the 12th overall pick, the Vikings land PFF’s No. 2 safety and 26th-best prospect overall, Lewis Cine at No. 32. The Georgia Bulldog — like most of the people on the team — is an elite athlete, who posted a 4.37 40-yard and 11-foot-1 broad jump at the NFL Combine. He was one of the best safeties in college football last year, turning in an 82.4 PFF grade for the season that ranked eighth in the Power Five. Cine was also one of the best tacklers in the country at Georgia, with just 11 misses on 159 career attempts. He was primarily a deep safety in college, but he can be more versatile in Minnesota. -AT

Day 2
The Athletic:
42. Minnesota Vikings: Andrew Booth, CB, Clemson
The Vikings moved up 11 spots and swapped picks with the Colts. Additionally, they gave up picks 77 (third round) and 192 (sixth round). Minnesota also got 122 (fourth round) back in return.
Booth (6 feet, 194) started 15 games at Clemson and performed well (14 passes defended, five interceptions). He was called for just one penalty in 35 college games. Booth is a physical, competitive corner who should be able to play in any scheme.
The question is durability. He didn’t participate in pre-draft athletic testing because of a strained quad and double hernia surgery. And per Brugler, he missed time with a hamstring injury and a stinger last year. Booth previously had surgery to repair a tear in his patella tendon and had knee tendonitis in high school.
If Booth can stay healthy, this could be a home-run pick. But that’s obviously a big if. I don’t mind taking a swing on his upside here.
Grade: B

59. Minnesota Vikings: Ed Ingram, OG, LSU
Ingram (6-foot-3, 307) started 35 games for the Tigers — 23 at left guard, 12 at right guard. According to PFF, he allowed two sacks and one QB hit on 484 pass-blocking snaps last year. Ingram tested out as a plus athlete.
But there are off-field concerns. Ingram was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault involving a minor in 2018. The charges were dismissed a year later, and he was reinstated to the football team.
Ingram was ranked No. 114 on Brugler’s big board.

66. Minnesota Vikings: Brian Asamoah, LB, Oklahoma
Asamoah (6 feet, 226) started 19 games for the Sooners. Last year, he had 89 tackles but did not produce a single pass breakup or interception.
He is an undersized run-and-chase linebacker, and Asamoah tested out as a plus athlete.

PFF:
42. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (VIA IND): CB ANDREW BOOTH, CLEMSON
Pick Grade: Good
After trading back and selecting Lewis Cine with the final pick of the first round, the Vikings move up to add another defensive back in Round 2. Booth projects as a scheme-versatile starter on the outside with some of the best feet in the class. Medical concerns pushed him into Day 2, but he’s a first-round talent. Patrick Peterson, who is playing on another one-year deal, is a short-term solution for the Vikings, who need to continue to add competition at the position.

59. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (VIA GB): G ED INGRAM, LSU
Pick Grade: Below Average
Ingram started as a true freshman in 2017 as a four-star recruit coming out of DeSoto, Texas, but he missed all of 2018 after he was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault. The charges were eventually dropped, and he went on to play over 400 offensive snaps in all three seasons following (2019-21). He never earned a PFF grade above 75.0 in his career due in large part

66. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (VIA DET): LB BRIAN ASAMOAH, OKLAHOMA
Pick Grade: Good
Few linebackers have the same range and potential in coverage as Brian Asamoah. At the Senior Bowl in drills set up for losses on the defensive side, Asamoah was able to cover backs and tight ends well. The Vikings have a need alongside Eric Kendricks, and Asamoah has the capacity to complement him very well.

PFF's 2022 NFL Draft: Biggest Round 2 & Round 3 steals
MINNESOTA VIKINGS: CB ANDREW BOOTH JR. (42ND OVERALL)
Booth was widely thought of as a first-round prospect but fell to Round 2 because of medical concerns. While there’s an argument that this should negate this being a steal, this is still very good value for Minnesota — especially considering that Booth was the seventh corner off the board.
The Clemson product has a scheme-versatile skill set that the Vikings desperately needed in their corner room. While the 21-year-old doesn’t quite have the lockdown numbers as some of the other top corner prospects in this class — he allowed 329 yards across 288 coverage snaps in 2021 — he made up for it down the stretch last season by combining for five interceptions and pass breakups in his final three starts.
He has exceptional feet and receiver-esque ball skills, and he delivered some of the best highlight-reel plays on the ball throughout his time at Clemson.

2. PICK 42: CB ANDREW BOOTH JR. TO THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS
In my eyes, Andrew Booth Jr. is a clear first-round talent at cornerback. He is raw and has some technique issues — you will rarely see a cornerback on the ground as often as he is — but his footwork and physical tools are special. The Vikings need to get younger and better at cornerback, and having traded around in this draft, getting Booth is a really nice addition. He allowed an NFL passer rating of just 66.2 when targeted in his college career, and his best football should be ahead of him if he can be coached well.
