Kind of like the stock market these days, everything about the 2022 draft is unpredictable. I decided to try and dabble with the volatile players rankings combined with the impatient team market desires from coaches to owners. Honestly, I only do this to have a little fun and rarely do I ever get anything right. Or maybe I've just watched Draft Day one to many times and I'm trying to get my David Putney trade. Hopefully, you all will enjoy yet another ridiculous mock draft by yet another unofficial expert.
1. JAX – DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, Oregon – GM Baalke likes Ducks, he was in SF when they drafted Buckner & Armstead, and hired HC Chip Kelly
2. DET – DE Aiden Hutchinson, Mich – sprint to podium, Campbell didn’t have to lie about Kayvon after all
3. HOU – S Kyle Hamilton, ND – hard hitting playmaker for the Lovie's defense, will be fun to watch him go against RB's Taylor and Henry
4. NYJ – CB Ahmad Gardner, Cincy – Sauce in the Big Apple
5. NYG – trade NO (16, 49, F3) – QB Kenny Pickett, Pitt – Surprise! The big FU to Division rival Panthers
6. CAR – trade Phil (15, 51, 124) – WR Garrett Wilson, OSU – CAR panics, Philly gets WR b4 ATL and like the large catch radius WR for Hurts.
7. NYG – DE Jermaine Johnson, FSU – Andre Patterson is going make this guy a stud.
8. ATL – trade Balt (14, 76, 128) – OT Evan Neal, Bama – Balt willingly pays to get biggest and best overall LT
9. SEA – LT Charles Cross, MS St – they resigned Geno Smith, so fill one hole at OT for a decade
10. NYJ – trade LAC (17, F2) – RT Ikem Ekwonu, NC St – SCARY, LAC now has Sticky Icky & Slater as the OTs for a decade.
11. Wash – trade HOU (13, 108) - DT Jordan Davis, GA – rebuilding the D line, LOVIE STYLE!!!
12. Minn – CB Derek Stingley Jr. - C’mon, Sting loves playing for DB Coach Daronte Jones, and we resigned P2 to help mentor him, just too perfect if he is still here.
13. HOU – Wash - WR Drake London, USC – BIG target for Commander Carson... Wentz needs it.
14. Balt – ATL – QB Malik Willis, Liberty – Malik can sit behind Marcus for a year, and the draft gets another divisional FU to the Panthers, who don't have not enough ammo to move around.
15. Phil – CAR – trade Buff (25, 57) – CB Trent McDuffie, Wash – remember Antoine Winfield started in Buffalo and the Bills really need CB who can stay healthy.
16. NO – NYG - RG Kenyon Green, TX A&M – solidify IOL with new FA - LG Glowinski, this guy should help Barkley get going
17. LAC – NYJ – DL Travon Walker, GA – Jets finally catch a draft day break, if Walker pans out (his draft stock is anywhere from 1 to 46, this feels about right)
18. Phil – LB Devin Lloyd, Utah – Eagles need long term LB help first over a CB, and if DAL can draft Micah Parsons last year. Well, monkey see, monkey do in that Div.
19. NO – OT Trevor Penning, N. Iowa – replacing Armstead is a must in this draft, getting a LT and a future QB... not a bad days work
20. Pitt – trade KC (30, 62) – WR Jameson Williams, Bama – Ju Ju Smith is really only a 1 year rental, so this guy can slowly enter the KC arsenal.
21. NE – trade Ariz (23, F4) – WR Chris Olave, OSU – sweet compliment to Andre Hopkins, and a must draft day strategy to get the most dangerous WRs off the board before the Packers pick.
22. GB – DE George Karlaftis, Purdue – still good value here, Greek Freak in Green Bay, hmmm.
23. Ariz - NE - ILB Nekobe Dean, Bama – Belichick’s type of MLB. NE has quietly fixed the DB need by resigning Malcom Butler
24. DAL – OG Zion Johnson, BC – Dal needs to fix IOL to help get Zeke going again
25. Buff – CAR – OT Bernard Raiman, C Mich – sure it's need pick here, but now they have 2022 draft capital to trade for Jimmy G.
26. Tenn – WR Trevon Burks, Ark – seems like a nice fit for the Titans power offense style
27. TB – QB Matt Corral, Ole’ Miss – Brady’s replacement for new HC Todd Bowles, rumors now have Brady wanting to be in Miami next year as a player/owner
28. GB – WR Skye Moore, W, Mich – Puckers finally break tradition. Skye's the limit as he'll start right away as WR3
29. KC – trade Sea (41, 72) – QB Sam Howell, NC – Carroll’s type of QB, and kind of similar style to Wilson, so Seahawk fans should feel better.
30. KC – Pitt – QB Desmond Ridder, Cincy – yes, they traded down not up to get their guy. Riddle me this if he can survive in a tough division
31. Cincy – CB Kaiir Elam, FLA – a long, tall, healthy CB to help an already impressive defense
32. DET – trade CLV (44, QB Baker Mayfield) – DT Devonte Wyatt, GA – CLV finally gets cap relief and is able to shore up DL, they're still interested in Richardson.
Teams without a 1st round:
39. CHI – WR Jahan Dotson, PSU – they need a reliable pass catcher for Fields
42. Indy – WR George Pickens, GA – good WR for Ryan and can help spring Taylor loose further downfield
44. CLV – traded into 1st above and finally can sing "we don't need no DRAMA, DRAMA" at least at QB.
61. SF – trade up to get WR Christian Watson, NDSU using one of the Panther's newly acquired 2nd round picks – Tray Lance and him are "Reunited and it feels so good"
64 – DNV – LB Chad Muma, WYM – thumper in the middle to help Jewells
86 – LV – OT Kellen Dietch, ASU – they kind of fixed everything else why not the OL in the draft.
102 – Mia – OC Cam Jergens, NEB – they need IOL to finish what they started before Brady moves down there. LOL
104 – LAR – Zach Tom, Wake Forest – they lost Wentworth, Corbett and ZT is versatile, but they won the SB so who really cares
