I have no problem with discussions, I called out the people that are dead-set on us being doomed already; in fact, many of them were writing "their team" off before winter even ended.

I have no problem with disagreements and discourse, and you should quit pretending you know me.  I'm sick of the overwhelming piles of full-on "we're already f***ed" babble across the Purple fandom.  I thought I'd made that pretty clear.

I'm STOKED that we have a new regime in charge, even if I didn't blame Rick quite as much as some others seem to.  I'm actually wildly optimistic that the new approach will benefit the Vikings on all sides of the ball, and the removal of our obsolete curmudgeon will have more effect than exchanging any single player ever could.  Yeah, every brand-new HC has teething problems and we'll see that...but I don't think we're gonna suffer much.

As far as Cousins, I've said many times/places (including here) that while I do like and support him, he's a bit of a mystery because his entire NFL career has been...bizarre.  Years on the bipolar Washington team in the Snyderverse, where he was the consolation prize after Subway's favorite sandwich shill popped his knee?  That's a helluva way to enter the league.  That team has been a mess under Snyder since he bought it, and it's hard to get a gauge on Cousins from that period...although he did run for more TDs, then.

In Purple?  We know, now, that his own HC barely spoke to him, wouldn't do film work with him 'til this last season, wouldn't allow audibles, and was seemingly happy running Cook straight into DTs more often than not, leaving Cousins to clean up the resulting 3rd and 8 (WHISTLE-FALSE START), sorry, 3rd and 13, behind a bad interior line.

Yeah.  Mystery.  Honestly, all we know is that he can product top 10-ish numbers in a dumb set of circumstances.

I kinda thought, if I'm honest, that Stafford's current position as reigning NFL Champion QB would be a lesson to the "win record" crowd, as Stafford's record is well short of .500, despite his obvious skill set.  I've always kinda wondered about the people hung up on that, because guys like Favre were constant reminders that even QBs totally beloved by the sporting media were only as good as their supporting cast.  If his WRs didn't make his desperation throws work, he'd get picked off pretty regularly.  Similarly, media darling QBs like Russell Wilson mysteriously haven't been championship contenders as their lines/defenses have fallen off....

...again, obvious lessons out there.

Happy to discuss 'em.  Yep, I vented on those posts, because seeing this thread title, after two months of "we're totally f***ed" posts across the Vikings sites, tweets, and everything else, I've got no interest in retaining any of those people in our colors.  It's one thing to be cynical, but damn...!

Anyway, I guess my take on things is a bit strong for some.  We'll disagree, and I guess I'll vent more gently, or elsewhere.

I seriously haven't said anything on a sports board that wouldn't be used to get a gloriously non-PC chuckle at any number of places I've worked at, and/or most groups of friends I've had...and that's across a good many walks of life.
