I'm not a lawyer. It's worth noting that Florio was one before this, so even though I'm not a fan of his political views, he knows a lot about all of this. To me, the issue of racism is a fairly hard claim to make, especially from someone who was considered a hot commodity this offseason and certainly will be/would have been next year too. Now that said, he listed a few coaches in his complaints, but that doesn't seem to be exclusive to black coaches. Case in point, Jim Harbaugh, who was a far more successful coach in his first stint and still got fired. I'd love to see someone run the numbers on coaches fired after winning seasons or assistants/DCs let go after better than average results broken down by race. At the least, it would put some numbers behind the claims, even if the discrimination is more passive than active.
That said, I have a sneaking suspicion that the NFL is not going to look good in all of this.
