The Bradbury/RG combo was one of the worst pass blocking Center/RG combos in football last year.
Kevin won't change that, folks. The McVay version of the Shanahan/Kubiak scheme is still OZB based. What changes is the incorporation of much more pre-snap motion, misdirection, 3 WR sets and more sideline to sideline plays to get playmakers in space or 1 on 1 where if they can make a guy miss it turns into a chunk play.
DTs don't care about motion or misdirection. The only thing O'Connell will bring is the sideline stuff, jet sweeps, bubbles screens, a far more sophisticated screen game for the RBs.
But no matter how good that element of the game is you still need to be able to create a clean pocket on 3rd and long. Or when you want to have chunk plays.
Baby Kubes was over his head but there was a reason he implemented so much quick passing and went away from Play Action. He just didn't trust his IOL to hold up.
Unless the Talent is upgraded, and there are very few options left in FA now, the best way to mitigate that weakness is actually to run the hell out of the ball. Nothing makes DTs hesitate more than worrying about the rushing attack.
Hopefully we see Kirk is Shotgun a lot more like Kyle Shanahan does with Garappolo. But there are still going to be games where Minnesota runs into a Top 10 D-Line and the result will look very much like the Browns game and too many others last year unless something happens in FA or the Draft.
