Average age of the roster is meaningless. What is the average age of their starters? What is the average age of their star players? Beyond JJ, Hunter, O'Neil, and maybe Darrisaw their youth is pretty underwhelming.
By starting over I'd mean cashing in their chips on aging vets, getting their cap healthy, and building around the few young studs they have. They're not doing that so I'll cheer for the team they field, but my expectations are not high.
I do get the jist of what you wanted to do if you were making the big decisions during this transitional period. As it stands now the team is straddling a fine line on how they're going about building a competitive team. The new regime didn't trade or cut the players I felt needed to go but like you I'll cheer for my team regardless. My expectations are quite low for our 2022 team.
So reading comprehension is not your strength I guess.
Let me simplify this for you, they could cut everybody and stock the team with 53 UDFAs this year and they'd be the youngest team in NFL history and they would suck. Average age of the roster is a meaningless metric.
I listed the four young impact players that i beleieve are young enough that they should still be very good to elite players 5-6 years from now. You could hope that kJ and Irv add their names to that list. Does that sound promising to you?
