Soooooo much to say.

First, Minnesota will be in a 4-2-5 more than 50% of the time. Probably closer to 60%. We as fans are getting too caught up in projecting for 3-4. Which will be used about half as much.

Didn't Phillips say he's going to line up exactly in front of the Center. That's not what a 5T does. He did say he envisioned sliding over to 3T in Nickel but I'm skeptical he's on the field on passing downs.

So you ink the #7 rated run stuffer last year, who says he's coming to town to stop the run and create gaps for Hicks to shine and then immediately draft his replacement?

No, Horrible Harry didn't sign for so much that he's guaranteed to start. But he offers little as a pass rusher from any spot on the Line in any formation. Why double down by adding another run stuffer who also can't pressure the QB?

Davis was a 2 down player at Goergia who had trouble with weight and conditioning, evident last year, and displayed virtually no consistent pass rushing moves or instincts. And he plays with a high pad level. Is he crazy athletic? Yes. But that didn't manifest itself often at all in college, which isn't a good sign.

You pick Jordan and now you still need another consistent pass rusher, be it 5T, 3T or Edge. I just don't see Phillips as a 5T when they're in a 3-4. And if I'm an OC and I see Harry and Jordan on the field at the same time I'm going hurry up to keep them on the field knowing my QB isn't going to be getting pressured up the middle unless Minnesota runs a game with stunts/twists or blitzes.

Second. If Minnesota drafts Stingley it's because Daronte Jones has zero concerns about his character and the new Training Staff gives him a clean bill of health. And I will support that pick 1,000%. This is the same kid who battled JaMar Chase and JJ to a standstill in practice and dealt with all those high draft pick Bama WRs (and plenty others from the rest of the SEC) with zero issues as a Freshman.

He skated by a bit his Freshman year in terms of sheer talent versus technique. As he started working more on technique he had some struggles. Who cares? I'd be more concerned if he wasn't interested in getting better at the fundamentals. But that part of his development got derailed by the shortened COVID year, which got sick during, and his ankle and foot injuries.

This new guy from the Rams played a role in their unique stretch of health. If he says Derek is fine and Jones says the kid has his head on straight then the Vikings would be getting a Top 5 player.

Third. Mcduffie shouldn't be comped to Jaire Alexander. Jaire has significantly longer arms. He's going to get eaten alive by taller WRs on the outside which necessitate a move to the Slot. But even if he stays outside he's still having to make up for his size deficiencies. I just don't see a guy who's so damn good on tape (against meh competition) that I throw the measurables out the window. And I sure as heck ain't picking him at #12.

TM at #12 would likely be the only scenario next week that would make me question the New Regime. Other than if Hamilton somehow slid and they passed on him. I'd be fine with picking McD after a trade back. Just not at #12.
