We better not go for Stingley (how many games has he played in a row?). I prefer and injury prone guy to a guy with long arms. Just watch Goofy out there with the long dangling arms. He is outstanding. Those arms make him worth all the gold in Fort Knox. Skill dont mean nothin.
2 HUGE red flags for me.
1: Can he stay healthy... he couldn't the last 2 years playing only 10 game seasons
2: Can he play like he did as a Freshman in 2019... That was 2019 and it's not that uncommon for a player to really shine as an underclassman and then regress. We are in 2022...
I really don't want to see another high pick spent on a CB as well based on the last decade of wasted picks on top CBs (outside of Rhodes) . I have read that Donatell system doesn't require star CBs as much as it relies on smart players being where they are supposed to be and assignments. Rookie CB's don't provide the impact on a team in year 1 that we have laid out on the table is our 2 year SuperBowl window. Pass rusher, WR, or Stud OLine IMO have far greater value.
I wouldn't mind if we looked at an opportunity to trade back and add an additional 1st or 2nd rounder.
WR, NT, DE, LB would are all above CB IMO. There are still free agents who are more qualified for a Super Bowl aspiring team than a rookie and 4-5 veteran players with good years left will get released after the draft.
My List of hopefuls
Garett Wilson WR OSU
Jordan Davis DT UGA
Kyle Hamilton S ND
Nkobe Dean LB UGA (If we traded down I like Dean. Not sure how he fits in a 3-4 for us but was a visible leader and impact player for UGA)
Ahmad Gardner CB Cincy (If he sees 12 he would be my CB exception but still not thrilled about CB)
Kayvon Thibodeaux Edge Oregon (He won't fall to 12 and they are publishing the same "motor issues" they did about Myles Garrett if you look em up) Someone around 5/6 wants him.
Now if we could just get Davis and Dean that would be terrific. I dont think Davis will slip past the Ravens pick, so it will take some artwork.
