I hear thee but I am going to take a contrarian position. First, they do not have to get a C or RG in this draft except for depth.
I believe, foolishly, that Bradbury is going to have his best season. It is a contract year and he will be a little stronger. Even if he does not he would be a valuable backup for 2022 although they could try to trade him for a 5th round pick or later and save a couple of mil.
I also expect Wyatt Davis to emerge from the doghouse. I cannot give up on him without even seeing him play.
And how many times do we have to go into a season with an unproven RG in the HOPES that they will be the answer? I'm sick and tired of seeing the middle of our line get pushed into the backfield .5 seconds after the snap, enough already! We need to clear out enough cap space to sign a C AND RG in free agency.
And BTW, Wyatt Davis couldn't even crack the 2nd string lineup, do you REALLY want to start the season relying on a 3rd string guard to keep the likes of Kenny Clark out of Kirk's grill?
Sorry, but we've wasted enough seasons on turnstile offensive lineman that were directly responsible for numerous losses. It's time to sure-up the line once and for all and enter the season knowing we're giving our QB enough time to find one of the most dynamic receivers in the game.
