Jefferson calls out Kubiak

Think about it this way: Zimmer is like a senior engineer or technician who was good at his job and very hands-on - but the only "step up" was to be promoted to a management role (i.e., Head Coach). So his job became far less hands-on. In fact, he was criticized for getting too involved in the work he used to do, and told he had to hire and direct the people doing what he used to do.

Some people get promoted to management and thrive, but just as many hate it and wish they could go back to their old "hands on" role. Problem is, their old job isn't open any more, they have to take a pay cut to go back, and - worst of all - they have been out of that role for a few years and they lost some skills. Maybe the whole job or game has changed and they were focused on management instead of their former area of specialty.

Zimmer isn't the same "CB whisperer" he was 8 years ago. Other coaches fail as HC in just a year or so and can go back to being a coordinator, but Zimmer has been out of it a long time now.
