I hear ya. Not sure if we'd suck for a decade but it's unlikely you go 3 for 3. Zimmer is likely gone.
Rick isn't a bad GM, in fact I'd say above average. I've just never heard of a personell guy being in a place for 15+ years with a team that hasn't had a championship appearance. Billy beane in baseball I guess
No idea with Kirk bc I think you need to extend him to keep him.
I really thought Zimmer was the right coach so this all sucks.
Rick is exactly that above average. Bunch with this bunch not only do you NEED the next Brady or Mahomes you also need the best GM on the planet.
As far as Zimmer, he was the right coach bunch the roster evolved and really how much tape is now out there with a lot of the same players on the same system. Professional coaches have more than enough tape of Zimmer with this core to pick it apart... That don't explain prevent defense vs the Lions on the final drive but.....
I'm fine to extend Kirk 3 more years. Nothing prevents you from drafting a QB over that time shall someone fall in your lap you don't have to mortgage the future for... Look at San Fran they f*cked up and set there team back half a decade. Could of just took Mac Jones instead traded up for a QB that really had no business being drafted in the top 10 who can't unseat Jimmy G... I don't know much about him to be honest but I got a friend who's a huge niners fan who said word on the street is they are very concerned. Not good...
I'm starting to warm up to Doug Peterson he dragged Carson Wentz and Nick Foles to a Superbowl season and neither have ever been as good as Kirk. Let alone if we do end up drafting a QB at some point hopefully he can identify if the guy is capable or can at least drag their sorry ass to acceptable since he did so with those two turds... It's an idea...
