This was a horrible offensive performance OC responsible for a poor game plan, terrible play calling & play designs especially in the 2nd half.
Apparently Madison did not learn from what happened to Cook or OC & RB coach has not coached him up and made it clear that hanging on to the ball is your only priority in that situation. Gaining an extra yard or two is unimportant in that situation. Terrible job to repeat and make same mistake again and give the game away again. Clue to OC, If you are not going to make a legitimate effort and call a play that has a chance of making a first down, just call a kneel down with the QB.
It appears the coaching staff has been reading my previous posts that provided blueprint and exact steps that needed to be taken the turn this season around.
Steps that I listed in my last post that they incorporated today
1) Get Barr back on the field ASAP. They did and he had a good game for his first start in a long time. Good LB core with Kendricks, Barr & Vigil. I saw all 3 out there at the same time occasionally. They played well together as a unit.
2) they used 4 WR's sets with Westbrook and Osborn at times. But they failed to open up the passing offensive which was the reason I suggested employing the 4 WR sets.
3) Start Darrisaw. They partially followed giving him playing time. He looked good in his time out there. They had more offensive success scoring with him in. No need to keep rotating the ineffective Hill.
Step you did not follow
Bradburry is ineffective and needs to be replaced. If you won't bench Bradburry at least start giving Wyatt Davis some series to watch and evaluate how he does. He will be better than Bradburry in not being pushed back in the pass game and moving DT's off the line in and opening holes in the run game. Or Cole if he is more ready right now.
New Step needed
The OC is not getting the job done. Too much talent and ineffective production.
Hire an experienced proven OC as a senior OC assistant to help guide and oversee Klint
If you have lost confidence in Klint, then fire him and replace him with a proven experienced OC.
