That's just it: no "perfect" time to put Darrisaw into the lineup. After the bye sounds nice, but does he debut on national TV? OTOH, don't we want a LT who can play in demanding situations?

I like to think they will start him when he looks better than Hill in practice, regardless of who they are playing that week. But their OL decision-making has not given me any faith.

As much as we believe this is a game we should win. The Lion's fans are probably looking at their schedule and saying which one can we get our 1st win? I think we are high on the list of possibilities.

Sad but true. I consider myself lucky because the only games I've been able to watch since September 2020 are the nationally televised ones.

A Lion's win this Sunday could speed up the housecleaning process of the Vikings franchise.

It is sad really. I had very little interest coming into the season. I usually watch parts or a 1st half at least of pre-season games. Didn't watch any this year. I've watch most of the 1st 4 games just a little late getting two of them on. I just didn't feel any chemistry coming into this year. Now it's already turning south and fighting for just respectability. I will keep watching but this year hasn't changed my feeling going in. As long as my stream is working I watch. I just wish they could give me a good reason.

Often in the past when we've had a blowout win I haven't really cared if the other team got a garbage-time TD or two. I figure you don't want to give away too much of the playbook on either side of the ball when you've already clinched a game. But this week - I'm with you Drank. Getting a little sick of all these gut-wrenching losses this season and Detroit has a bunch of guys out. Also I will be at the game with A-Train and Funkytown.

Time to f*cking stomp somebody.

2018 Season:
Week 3: We got killed by the Buffalo Bills 27-6 as 17 point favorites.
There was off the field stuff and mental health issues that derailed us.
Week 13: We were 6-5-1 against a 7-5 Seattle Seahawks.
We had a debacle of a game in prime time against Seattle on offense and special teams in a 21-7 loss
Week 17: Win and you're in at home against a Chicago Bears team that had its playoff seed locked in so it rested starters.
24-10 loss

2019 Season:
Nothing jumps out as too stinky in the regular season, apart from getting swept by Packers and Bears in close losses (yuck) and a loss to the Chiefs and Seahawks. Following a wild card overtime victory against the Saints, we were totally unready to play against the 49ers and were completely outcoached in a 27-10 loss.

2020: The garbage time points game with the Packers to start the season followed up with laying an egg against the Colts, yeesh.
The Colts, Falcons and Saints games are as bad of games as Zimmer/Cousins era ever produced.
Losing 40-23 at home against an 0-5 Falcons team that had just fired its coach is particularly galling.

It seems like Zimmer's Vikings and most football teams are capable of that "how the hell did you lose that game?" game.

What percent chance do you give the Detroit Lions being a trap game? I think its low because they are so injured and Zimmer must understand by now that he is coaching for his job. I'll say 20 percent.

You could go further. In 2016 they were 7-6 with a decent chance to still reach the playoffs, hosted a mediocre Colts team at USBank and were utterly embarrassed 34-6. It effectively ended hopes in a season that started 5-0. I think we were only 4-point favorites but it was a shameful lack of team preparation and initiated my belief that Zimmer should be fired.

I would also include the 2017 NFCCG blowout loss. I realize it’s not similar to this week but Zimmer can crap the bed at any time.
