This is a callout post. Plain and simple. If you think Kendricks sucks you absolutely, unequivocally don't understand football. Period.
He's too small? Look at the f*cking LBs on the defending Superbowl Champion.
The problem with the Run D is Mike Zimmer and Andre Patterson. They've said a zillion times that they want DTs who occupy blockers so the LBs can stay clean. Not stuff the run themselves or rush the passer. Occupy blocks.
They currently have 2 Tackles who were Top 10 against the run the last year before they played on this Defense. And they aren't keeping Kendricks or any other Linebacker clean. Plain and simple.
Teams started going to lighter LBs ages ago. Remember Tevon Smith? The idea is to get more speed to cover better (Kendricks is inarguably one of the best covet LBs in the NFL) and chase down spread concepts designed to attack Defenses outside of the hashmarks. So Offenses counter with more runs. Especially Zone Runs where you try to pull a Center or Guard to smack the smaller, faster LBs.
It's the D-Lines job to keep LBs free. Was Minnesota awful against the run with Joseph at NT while Kendricks was "too small" to play MLB? No they weren't. Period.
This is either a scheme issue or a talent at DT issue. Considering the performance of Pierce and Tomlinson before they got to Minnesota and the fact that even the Seahawks would take Eric Kendricks in a heartbeat is enough evidence to put this absolutely ridiculous 'hot taek' that Kendricks, an All Pro Player, somehow sucks to bed. Just STFU with this stupidity.
