Jameis Winston
Taysom Hill
Andy Dalton
Tyrod Taylor

I would give someone like Mond or Huntley, Hienicke a chance before anyone on that list.

Mond should get a shot, preferably with a g.m. and coach who can actually develop a qb if there is anything worth developing there. With this regime he has no chance.

Andrew Janocko. He's naturally an O-line coach, but it's been reported that he's been helping Kubiak call plays. Meanwhile, Mond is being treated like a practice squad QB (only playing on the scout team when needed). It is possible there is more going on behind the scenes that we don't know about... but there is no chance the Vikings roll into 2022 with Mond as our starting QB. He's likely going to compete for the backup job again in 2022.

Yeah, well I think the do another deal with Cousins. It will piss fans of beyond belief but I believe it will happen. I'm thinking a 3-4 year extension of about $30 million a year with some signing bonus to bring it around $40 a year. The only way it doesn'tt happen is if Rick and Zimmer are both fired at the end of the season.

I think Kirk definitely wants to stay on a team that has him getting sacked less than any other QB not named Tom Brady this year, throwing to one of the best WR tandems in football and handing off to one of the best RBs in football. Especially since it might be the only non-Jets team that would cave into his absurd contract demands.

FYI, extending Kirk does not give us more cap space to use on free agents or re-signing our own players. It actually limits what the Vikings could do this off season more than any other singular move they could make. That would be true if the QB were Aaron Rodges, Russel Wilson or Patrick Mahomes.

Extending Hunter limits what we can do as well, but not nearly as much since he would likely make half of what Kirk would in 2023 and beyond.

Player extensions do not give you more cap to work with, they give you less.

This was my fear of drafting mond in the first place. I knew we didn’t have the right coaches and system to develop him. I hope he hasn’t been stunted as far as him being able to grow as a qb. Hopefully the next coaching staff that comes I are experts on offensive side and can coach and develop young QBs.

Cool, that means if we got 1-1 in those two games we are actually better without Kirk than with him right?
