...to answer your question firestick. Is it ok if I call you firestick? This has kinda gotten to be your stick. I don't know alot of GM's around the league but for Rick's job he seems to over pays for talent. Holds on to them too long and hasn't built the fundamentals of a winning team with plenty of time to have gotten it done. So I'm ok with moving on from him. I don't need to say it so often.
Dalvin - Top 3 RB in the league and heartbeat of our offense.
O'Neill - Top 5 RT in the league and only anchor on our OL.
Harrison - one of the leagues top safety's for years and contract is designed to get out of after 2 years incase his play falls. And was underpaid for years compared to level of play.
Kendricks - arguably the best MLB in the league and arguably underpaid.
Hunter - arguably a top 3 DE in the league and on a HOF pace if he can stay healthy the remainder of his career
Theilen - arguably underpaid at WR, and one of the leagues top threats on 3rd down and the redzone.
Barr - I'll agree here because he hasn't played due to injury so I guess you could call it an overpay, but when he's on the field he is far more valuable than most fans give him credit for. Look at our defense since he's been hurt....27th or worse. When he's on the field we're 10th or better. There has to be a corilation there.
Rick is known as a GM who has paid his home grown players and I agree with that method. So I'm not sure where you get this "over-paying" for talent. He may be guilty of holding on too long to players (Rudy and AP specifically) but not too often does he get stuck in those situations.
As for "building the fundamentals of a winning team" I mean he built the 2017 team, a great 2015 team that over-performed, the 09 team. We've had our chances, we just haven't taken advantage of it. Has he built a Patriot's esque dynasty? Obviously not, but I don't know many GM's that have ever done that for an extended period of time. Plus we're a above .500 and generally playoff bound team almost every year, how is that not a "winning culture/team" unless the only way you define the "fundamentals of a winning team" as a team that has won a Super Bowl, then you can make the same argument for about 27 other active GM's....
I can just justify zimmer and his length of stay here because the roster is awful pretty much every year.
