Off Topic Discussion
While Purple Pain does desire to allow free discussion of potentially controversial topics, there are expectations from our staff and the bounds of common civility. We will call this our Formal Understanding, or F.U. for short.
F.U. #1 - Trolling. Trolling is defined as to antagonize (others) online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content. A respectful conversation about controversial topics is allowed, but personal attacks (refute the argument's facts, do not insult the poster who posted them) are not. Certain subjects could be considered trolling by the very subject matter. One might post that Adolf Hitler was a great guy because he liked dogs. Asserting something similar to this, is likely to result in an F.U. statement from the mods and a warning. If the board's staff has to continue to issue reminders (F.U.) to a member, plan on a "vacation" from the board for a (to be determined) time. This may be abbreviated as, "F.U. Take a vacation."
F.U. #2 - Childish/Immature behavior. D*cks oftentimes act childish or immature because of their limited intelligence as compared to human adults. People (not d*cks!) can agree to disagree without declaring (or needing) a winner in an argument. Adults have respectful conversations with those whose viewpoints differ from their own. If you want to act childish or immature, F.U. Take a vacation.
F.U. #3 - Being blatantly rude or disrespectful. It's one thing to have a conversation where a person can state a contrary opinion such as, "I disagree with your assertions because...(facts follow here)" versus "Only utter morons believe what has been asserted. Further, I question whether all those who believe such things have an ounce of brain matter between them!" - F.U. Take a vacation.
F.U. #4 - Intentionally Homophobic, Racist, and/or Hate Speech. This is NOT about agreeing with White Privilege, embracing the LGBTQ Community, or automatically labeling every post about a wide variety of controversial topics as "hate speech." Use language that is deliberately/obviously hateful, homophobic, or racist and you know what happens. Drop the N-word, talk about rounding up gays and nuking them, or things along those lines - F.U. Take a long vacation.
F.U. #5 - Appeals of decisions in these matters. We really try hard to make this a forum where we can allow conversations that might not occur on other boards. We expect there will be "tension" at times, but not outright hostility, or inappropriate responses. There are no appeals. The mods' decisions in these matters are final. Whining about this (or prior) decision(s) - F.U. Take a vacation.
F.U. #6 - NEVER ride a horse into a building while posting on Purple Pain. It's dangerous, hard to type, and will result in the reminder - F.U. and the horse you rode in on.
So please enjoy your time on the board and please never put the Purple Pain Team in the position of saying F.U. to you.

General Rules:
We expect a diversity of opinions from adults and expect their online conduct to reflect they are adult. Our goal is to comply with the Terms of Service for ProBoards.com, and we expect each member of the online community to participate within these guidelines:
- While debating and discussion is fine, we will not allow purposeless, inflammatory posts. Our determination of the post(s) that may fit this criteria is final in these matters.
- Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
- Cross posting, the act of posting the same thing across multiple forums, is not allowed. Please just post once in the most appropriate forum.
- Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
- Discussion of illegal activities such as fraud, software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed. There is a zero tolerance policy for illegal activity being discussed.
- Do not post content from private correspondence, such as email or chat, within the forums. Posting any other persons private information such as email, phone number or address is prohibited.
- Discussion of cracking passwords or bypassing security measures is prohibited.
- Foul language isn't necessary to discuss a topic, and it violates the Terms of Service for Proboards.com. Since we are ADULTS we expect our users to self-censor themselves. Any post detected by the moderation team may be edited, deleted, or otherwise handled at the moderation team's discretion with no notice given to the poster.
- We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
- If you are going to post material that is not your own, properly credit the source(s); failure to do so is considered plagiarism.
While the above rules cover some common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently, we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
We reserve the right to ban or infract anyone who willfully violates the forum rules. Bans will not necessarily be permanent, but enacted based on the seriousness of an offense to these rules.
We can summarize our rules thusly:
- Don't act like a d*ck!
- D*cks aren't grown up people - They can't self-censor.
- D*cks really shouldn't be allowed to use the forums as they offer no intelligent commentary and display only animal-like pseudo-intelligence not on par with advanced thinking that humans exhibit.
- D*cks really don't try to understand other points of view. They only know/focus on what *they* want to think about.
- D*cks don't care about piracy and the monetary loss due to theft when piracy occurs.
- Often times d*cks won't understand their actions may not be appreciated. They're d*cks!
- D*cks often times will not give any thought to how they are interacting with others. If you're going to act like a d*ck, the moderation team reserves the right to take any action they deem necessary, without any prior warning, subsequent notice, or justification for their actions, including, but not limited to: suspensions or bans from the forum.
- The Moderation team's determination of what actions are considered acting like a d*ck are at their discretion only, and are not subject to appeal, or discussion.
- Our intent is to allow free discussion on potentially controversial topics. If you are offended by any topic(s) or posters, you are advised to not read the applicable topic(s) or poster(s). By accepting membership on Purple Pain, you acknowledge that you willingly choose to read about these controversial topics and agree to discontinue use of the forum in the event you are, or might possibly become, offended by those posters/posts. D*cks aren't smart enough to do that.
- So in summary, don't act like a duck! (Sorry about my "u" key. It kept inserting an asterisk in its place.)
