Week 2 of the preseason is in the books and it is time to do what PP members do best, tell you all where we were right and you and everyone else was wrong...while ignoring where we were wrong and others were right.
My I told you so's:
#1 Dantzler was incredibly overrated last season. He was the best of a bad bunch of CBs, and therefor wasn't picked on as much as he would be in a competent secondary. He looks to be the 5th CB with Boyd jumping ahead of him and had two of the worst plays of the 1st preseason game.
#2 The Oline won't be better than last year. You cut your 2nd best Olineman at the most important spot on the line and attempt to replace him with a rookie or backup and your Oline isn't going to improve. Hill got dominated by Paye in his first ever preseason game and looks like the backup he is.
#3 The 2020 draft class wasn't anything special. Yes I know JJ was a top 5 pick from that draft and a possible franchise changer, but we got him by trading away the best WR in football. Outside of the great player we gave up an equally great player to get, the best we got is a LG, backup DE, 5th CB, and not much else.
#4 Cousins is a very average QB. Dude sucked in preseason, so how can we expect him to light it up in the regular season?
#5 Our WR depth is crap. Theilen, Jefferson then nothing. Irv Smith just isn't enough of a threat at TE to make up for our lack of a #3 WR.
I am sure there are others I am not thinking of right now, but I am curious what "I told you so's" you all have before the season even starts?
Are you saying these things because of 2 preseason games or because this is what you think of these issues just in general?
