And to be fair, Mond didn't look too bad in his 1st preseason game. Yes he needs to work on his accuracy as well as growing threw his progressions faster. All of that will improve with experience. However at the moment he is behind due to being stuck quarantine for a good portion of camp. The offensive line wasn't any help. His completion percentage looks kinda awful but rewatching game, he had to throw a lot of passes away or simply missed because the pressure was coming and he didn't have time to set his feet.
I also feel like the play calling didn't do him any favors either. I get that it's preseason but I hate this mindset of running a vanilla offense during the preseason. Open up the playbook a bit so these guys can really show what they're made of. Trying to "hide" majority of their plays for the regular season hasn't gotten us any closer to a super bowl thus far.
So hopefully next game, they design more plays for him. It's not like he's starting this season so teams won't be trying to gameplan against him. He needs all the reps he can get since he's already behind the learning curve. They definitely had a leash on Mond and that offense. I think he will do good. But the coaches gotta do their part and put him in position it to succeed.
