Again though, I don't think anyone in the "panic" thread is suggesting its time to panic completely...but there is concern on our depth, especially our immediate backups as some of them will play a significant amount of snaps in 2021 at some point. It wasn't all the Dylan Mabin's of the world out there in the first half - the Vikes did play some key 2nd Team / immediate backup players which didn't look good, and if the Broncos played a similar # of backups (again, minus 3-4 players at any given time), that didn't look good, especially if you consider all the "glowing" TC reports on some of those backups we've all been reading about for 2 weeks.
Depth has been the Achilles' Heel of the Vikings throughout the Spielman era. We tend to gather a fair number of impressive starters, and every year bring in some new names, but it tends to be a house of cards, and the team disappoints if more than 1-2 starters are hurt (or suspended, etc.). Then we get a set of excuses and people proclaiming that we can't blame Zimmer or Spielman. But this has not been an effective "next man up" team for many years.
