I think the issue is cherry picking. Most stats don't tell the whole picture... and Nick in particular is known for pulling these random stats out of his you know what that prove an agenda but don't really answer why it is that people are frustrated with Kirk and the offense.
Sorry that it's June, and I saw an interesting tid and bothered to share it. But, honestly, the hatred towards Nick around here is just sad. He has random stats, sure, but more so than that, he has in-depth discussions and VERY in-depth articles. He's literally one of the best Vikings writers out there. Nick and Dustin are two very different people. If you want to say that about Dustin, yeah... but Nick? Dude is a brilliant mind, and he's good at what he does. He backs all of his takes up and then some with stats, film, etc.
Stats Police: Be sure to call out random negative stats, too. Because they don't tell the whole story and are likely useless.
My point though is that they tend to miss context. I see with my eyes that Cousins can rattle off plenty of 15 yard gains when we're down by 3 scores and the other team is basically giving them to us. How often that happens and in comparison to the rest of the league matters a lot... And we saw the wins and losses last season, which kind of gets to my point. Those explosive plays don't happen nearly as often when the game is tight...
We've massively improved our defense. Yay... If we keep hitting those explosive numbers than this team probably wins 13 games. They won't of course, because when the defense is doing it's job, it's going to be on the offense to win those contested matches. I'm hoping Davis and Darrisaw develop quickly just as you are, but I suspect the offense takes a step back when they find themselves in a lot less garbage time type scenarios.
