I initially wanted to trade down and get a 2nd at the beginning of the offseason. Situations change over time after how they approached the FA the situation shifted. We going to have to sign Melvin Ingram or Everson Griffen because if that first pick is anything but OL we in a world of hurt. Trading for Yannick hurt us badly, losing that 2nd rounder ouch. IMO we need either Sewell, Slater, or Darrisaw we have to address LT. I like AVT but cutting Reiff left a huge question at OT.
All 3 will be gone at 14 leaving us stuck. If we don't trade up, then we have to drop back in the 20s for a guy like Leatherwood or Jenkins. They are RTs though so that would make us have to move O'Neill. Again I believe AVT could fill and OG spot day one but my question is how would we address LT? That is a big jump moving Ezra back out there, can we trust that at such a critical position? To have a rookie and (hope) Ezra can handle LT would be very risky day one.
Where we sitting puts us at a risk to miss out and one false move besides a OL with the first pick would be devastating IMO. Either trade up for a blue chipper or trade down to get the next tier of OL and a higher pick to address DE after, but 14 is not it I hate that spot for us in this draft, especially with no 2nd RD. If we trade up we lose some of our mid rounds, so then we will need to retreat to a vet at DE.
