Gladney Accused of Assault - Officially Cut

Not speaking for WKM, but the structure itself bothers me. I'm not an expert, but it seems like it was definitely designed to allow for special privileges. As you said, access to that "top lawyer" allows for a deal to be cut. Aka if you have money, YOU via payment (essentially) can lower your own consequences. That's f*cked up. Some people can lower their own consequences and some can't. Haves and have nots. Hmm.

I wasn't saying I wouldn't also take advantage of the system in place, I am saying the system doesn't change because the people with the power to change it benefit from it.

It isn't wrong to spend a lot of money to give yourself the best chance in court, it is wrong to maintain a system that treats wealthy people differently from the poor. In other words, I won't blame Gladney for taking advantage of the system that exists, I will instead be angry at the politicians who do nothing to put an end to that system.

If I'm paying a Lawyer $150,000 a hour he better be able to find every loop hole there is. Also many poor people have a PD and that PD might have 50 cases at any giving time but the high prices lawyer might be able to dedicate most his/her time to your case. Also the PD works for the county so many of them are looking to help said county. I had friends that used PD's and the plea was always something like advoid a few months in county jail but have like $10,000 in fines and 2 years probation. So in the end the prosucuton still gets you because the county isn't going to have their defense attorney's constantly beat them in court.

I've also heard the version "Those with the gold make the rules."

SMH...I kinda decided to ignore this while taking a few days off. Bad news indeed and I hate reading the descriptions of the incident. Makes it hard to wait before judging.


Well, given that they expected to get him away from Texas or something, I expect to hear a lot about how Covid prevented the team from doing so. That's a lame excuse and the issue should still be, "Why did you pass Winfield to take a known character risk?"

I don't believe anyone involved with the Vikings condones it but given all the info other posters here showed back at draft time, they do need to take some accountability. But I expect this will be treated like a bolt from the blue no one could have expected.

Sometimes it's men of wealth with the power. Other times it's powerful institutions. I look at the case of Jameis Winston at FSU. Different charges but...
That girl went to the police. They in turn went right back to the school and they began the cover up. She went home.  If not for a reporter digging into the case and writing an article that spawned an investigation it would have gone unheard. However the trail was allowed to go cold. Maybe because the star QB in a National Championship run was more important? I guess I won't ever know the truth. She got a settlement.  Winston went on to further tarnish himself because he learned nothing. 
I will never forget that press conference they called to announce they are closing the case. The DA was almost too happy. They cracking jokes?...Jokes?  I half expected them to break out the tomahawk chop and chant FSU...FSU...

I would have totally understood if he yelled at her. That is not what he got charged with though was it.?
