It has just occurred to me. With a career record at 51-51-2 and a odd number of games played this season. Kirk might have to sit a game to keep his record intact.

Eli made huge money on his 2nd contract as per % of cap. And he does not have the arm talent as Kirk.

If the Giants can win 2 Superbowls with Eli the Vikings can win one with Kirk.

You just need to get to the conference championship then it's 2 flips of the coin. And of you really wanna get wonky... At some point the law of averages has to win out. How many times in a row can you flip a quarter and have it land on tails in a row? We've lost 5 conference championships in a row already. Maybe when we finally kick the door down it's not gonna be a year we go 14 wins and get a bye... Maybe we'll have a Eli giants run or Flacco Raven's run etc...

You really shouldn't have stopped reading:  "or they have had just as much success or more in the playoffs" 

Wentz was a big part of the Eagles regular season SB run and getting them a first round bye.  His team won the SB with Wentz on his rookie deal and Foles making backup money.  His team had more success, drafting him.  I will also add that with the right weapons and oline, Wentz has been better than Cousins ever has been.  People project Cousins would do the same (even though he didn't in 2015 and 2016), but we KNOW Wentz is capable of more.

Goff's team has been to the SB with him as their starter. 

Cousins' teams have one playoff win in 6 seasons.

Your claim that 90% of QBs drafted recently had worse careers than Cousins is not even close to being accurate.   Even if you don't consider success in the playoffs for a QB the measurement of a successful career (which you probably don't if you think Cousins is a successful QB), Mahomes, Watson, Jackson, Allen, Herbert, Murray and Burrow are either much better, or on their way to being much better than Cousins. I also believe that replacing Cousins with Goff, Baker and even probably Wentz would make no difference on our record and that we might actually have a better season since those three aren't the proven losers Cousins is.  

Again, you don't want to believe that because it makes you feel bad about your team, but that doesn't make it untrue.  

In the playoffs, Eli's defense didn't give up more than 20 points in either 2007 or 2011. Flacco actually had to play great to win it all with his defense giving up 30+ points twice.

Both Eli and Flacco needed to play very well in the playoffs to win the SB. Eli threw 15 TDs to 2 ints in his 8 playoff wins on route to winning it all. He averaged 259 yards per game and a 98 passer rating.

Flacco in his SB run had a 127 passer rating and threw 11 TDs to 0 ints in his 4 playoff games in 2012. He was also making less than half of what the highest paid QB was making that year. As soon as he got his big pay day his team never got close again. He went from making the playoffs and at least winning one game on his rookie deal ever single year to not making the playoffs save one year on his massive contract. Probably just a coincidence.

So not only are people recommending we follow the least common path to winning the SB, but even with those 2 QBs they did something in the playoffs Kirk has never shown he can do. Win multiple games against a playoff team in a row.
