It sounds like the Vikings are going to switch some things up on defense this year.
Zimmer: "Offenses have changed so much, it's time that we do some things differently, change and adapt."

Mike Zimmer: "I like bringing in guys when people say that (they were coming off subpar seasons).''
One of those NTs had nearly an identical Pressure Rate to Suh last year and actually lined up all over place last year.
This notion of pressure from a true 3T has bugged me for a while now. Who actually consistently generates pressure other than Darnold? Jones, who's actually not great against the run. Who else?
Yes, the Vikings were terrible at generating pressure up the gut last year. So are most teams. But the vast majority of those teams weren't getting gashed on 1st and 10 runs between the Tackles. When you are consistently in 2 and 5 or less and 3rd and 1 you're screwed, I don't care who you are as a DC.
This 'Modern NFL' crap is overhyped. Tampa ran the ball to set up Play Action and had good to great pass blocking. The year before Kansas City ran the ball to spark their big playoff comebacks. McVay's New World Offense tanked in the Owl. Shanahan would have 2 Owls if he called like 4 more running plays.
Zimmer's Defense sucked last year because 7 Starters/Contributors left and were replaced by Rookies and kids with no track record of success. Yes, he'll make some tweaks. No,he won't ever gameplan to stop the 1st Drive of the Game (grrrrr). But let's not pretend he's a caveman DC discovering fire.
Mike's issues stem from scaring OCs into never passing on 1st and 10 and terrible game management, which cost the Team at least 2 wins last year. Oh, and the annual 'Come out of the bye flatter than a pancake'. Not understanding 'modern' Offenses is not one of his many weaknesses, IMHO.
