Stranger things have happened....... Improve the interior of both lines this offseason and we could be competitive IMO.

We need a improved D this year for sure. I see we added 4 defensive players. Tomlinson, Vigil and Peterson along with Weatherly should help our D. Would love to see a healthy and happy Danielle Hunter at RDE. Add a few more D players from this upcoming draft and we should be much better on that side of the ball in 2021.

Our offense IMO could be really good only if we improve the interior of our OL. This just might be the year we get it right. (roflmao)

I honestly wonder how Hunter would be at RE, he's been a LE his whole NFL career. It could be a easy transition for him but his numbers could also dip big too. At LE he usually lines up vs the 2nd best OT the RT but most teams best or strongest OT is at LT. Not every team implores that philosophy but there is a reason LT's usually are paid higher then RT's. I say leave Hunter at LE with his right hand in the dirt(most teams want the hand closest to the ball down) and find a new RE in this draft or next year & just use a rotation at RE this year.

didnt read the 8 pages of notes.....but a surprising signing

will be interesting to see if they move himn to safety

lots of young blood in the secondary, especially at corner, so love the idea of him playing a mentor role as well.

hopefully we can get hte most out of him. But he seemed to be penalized as much as Rhodes when he was here....so certainly things need to be cleaned up

Um... in 2019 Griffen was the starting RE and had 41 tackles & 8 sacks. Also the playoff game vs the Saints on 3rd & long both Griffen & Hunter slid inside. Not sure why you thought he didn't play with Griffen, he might've played a few snaps at RE from time to time in 2019 but he sure as hell was the LE. Even when Griffen missed almost half the season in 2018 pretty sure Hunter stayed at LE

FTR, I'm not all that psyched about the PP acquisition, the guy had 14 penalties called on him last year and his PFF grade was below Gladney's.

FTR, I'm not all that psyched about the PP acquisition, the guy had 14 penalties called on him last year and his PFF grade was below Gladney's.

Peterson has a 1 yr contract worth 8 million with 1 million for playing 95% of the snaps & 1 million for making all pro. Both those bonuses can be pushed to the 2022 cap. If he doesn't work out then fine its a 1 yr deal but if it does like Sherman did in his early 30's with SF then we got a good DB on this defense. Not sure whats not to like.

Here's another thing to like is without Griffen we didnt really have a vocal leader on defense but both Peterson with Arizona & Tomlinson with NYG were captains. Adding 2 team leaders to this defense can only help.

Also im not worried about Peterson's PFF grade or penalties last year since Zimmer is supposed to be a DB guru and wont be leaving him on a island like Arizona did the last few years. Also he did say himself that he'd be willing to move to safety to prolong his career so he might actually be a team first guy who might help the younger CBs in 2021 like Newman did when Mike first got here

Really surprised Patrick Peterson came here, no hes not the same player he was but would still think he had that ego or wanted to win a ring. I mean im very happy he chose to come here and excited to see how it works out, but I would've liked to be a fly on the wall in that conversation with Zim and his plans. Its likely a 1 and done but the Vikings didnt really show anything to maximize CB value last year. Just very interesting to me.

The only thing with this talk of moving him to safety is-it doesn't seem like Zimmer's MO. I mean all the years with Smith and trying to find someone to play next to him-even if you think Andrew Sendejo gets a bad rap (I do), there has always been talk of moving someone to Safety. Terrance Newman could play Safety? Xavier Rhodes, might we move him to Safety? Nope and nope. Zimmer doesn't seem to think the transition is easy or worthwhile or both.

I think Peterson is being brought in to be a CB, a guy on the outside who may be able to make teams pay if Dantzler keeps improving and becomes a true #1 CB who shadows the other team's #1 WR. Basically to be Trae Waynes to Dantzler's Xavier Rhodes but with the ability to actually make a play on the ball. It also allows Gladney to play in the slot, where he seemed more comfortable. And add another name to the depth chart...maybe so Harrison Hand can move to Safety.

Actually wont be surprised if they actually cut Hughes and take the million dollar savings or maybe try and use him in a trade if he can pass a physical. Also wouldn't be shocked if he decides to retire because back to back years with a neck injury a 3rd could be life altering. Hughes has made a few dollars to get ahead in life to start another path so who knows what will happen with Mike Hughes.

Something I find intriguing about Hughes is...they obviously aren't counting on him doing too much at CB-I mean right now, he looks the dime guy. Maybe he could be more-we've never seen enough to know for sure whether he can play or not, and his injury history is problematical.

If he is healthy though, and your fourth CB? Wasn't he supposed to be a KR guy too? Didn't he have a reputation at UCF of guy who makes plays with the ball in his hands? I want to see that if he isn't being expected to play significant snaps on defense.
