If he was such a high prospect, then I have to get back to my concern on the lousy job college football is doing when it comes to developing QB's or preparing them for the NFL. I mean top quality NFL QB's are few and far between these days, so I guess it only makes sense that WR's would be over priced as well. Pass defenses in college must be awful. I mean QB's and WR's are putting up some pretty huge numbers in college, better than ever, but that success isn't carrying over too well. Johnny Clown Show is the perfect example. I wish the NFL would start it's own minor league system and stop relying so heavily on the NCAA for football talent. The NCAA is ruining football talent.
My biggest concern with the Treadwell pick and his subsequent inability to get on the field,is not with the NCAA,but with the Vikings scouting department and how the team assess draft prospects.
Last years WR draft class was not a strong one,and Treadwell was highly rated. But his inability to gain separation against NFL caliber DBs,and the fact that he already had a major leg/ankle injury were the two biggest downsides for him. He'll need to do something to contribute more this season, otherwise the bust label will be applied.
