Unc I was just thinking yeah we better not confuse this staff to much. Adding Brown will just confuse them to much. Even though I think you can combine both methods. Have him not pull and just anchor and have the other athletic ones do the pulling. We don't want to confuse Dennison to much though so we better not LOL! Sadly it is to complicated for us. One step at a time.

True..... and it highlights just how important it is that Rick's 1st and 2nd round picks, Bustbury and ONeill both taking a huge step is necessary for this team. ONeill needs to take the step to become a great RT Pro Bowl if not All Pro level. Bustbury needs to become above average (ok, this sounds impossible, realistically)

You asking to much Bos.. That much go right on the OL, we have a better chance at winning a million doing the lottery. Uncle had to bring me back in to reality, I got to far ahead. We can't do but one thing a year if that on the OL lol!

KC can do this because of the way they structured Mahomes contract; it's a low base salary and it's all roster bonus so each offseason they can just convert his roster bonuses into signing bonuses and keep spreading that out over the next 9-10 yrs. Orlando Brown Jr's extension will probably cost them $20m a season (just an est) so they'll convert $20m of Mahomes' roster bonuses to signing bonuses each year. Their salary cap Dept deserves some praise for the way they structured that.

E Fisher - K Osemele - A Rieter - A Wylie - M Schwartz

To this projected starting lineup in 2021+:

O Brown Jr - T Thuney - Austin Blythe - A Wylie - M Remmers
Depth: N Allegretti, Kyle Long, Yasir Durant, Lucus Niang

So while they lost their 2 starting OT's to injuries and they didn't resign their starting C, they picked up a solid veteran C in Austin Blythe and Brown Jr who's younger than Fisher and coming into his prime. They do have Niang to battle Remmers for the RT spot, but their left side of Brown Jr & Thuney is real strong.

If the Chiefs stay healthy in 2021, it'll be hard for the Bills/Ravens or any other AFC team to unseat them, which is why it's a little puzzling why the Ravens traded Brown Jr to the Chiefs to begin with because while it was a decent haul for someone who would have walked after 2021 anyway, I might have considered taking a little bit less from an NFC Team to get him out of the Conference.

It should not matter if he pocketing the money it should count on the cap. You don't understand the half of it I hate the Quiefs. That is my wife's team. She talks mad trash to me while they win and we suck. Never any optimism in sports. It's a given every year who going to the Bowl check Vegas. Vegas already knows. I have to watch a decade while the Chiefs get handed every thing as the new Patriots and win. They paying Mahomes, Brown, Thuney, Hill, Kelce, Jones, and Clark no problem. No cap hell but our language on top guys hurts us. Brezenski is not a cap wiz then. Like he is hyped as. I want to win too.

KC won this trade easily. Getting a 2nd back the meat of this draft is around that area they have 2 2nds now. If needed they can trade up. Orlando Brown is better than anybody they could get 31st and he is 25. Chiefs fleeced the Ravens IMO. Give me a ready made guy over hoping any day. Just like we did with Jared Allen. If Patty protected KC can't be beat they now have a strong OL. Its a wrap they going back to the Bowl this year barring injuries. They can also trade down with one of the 2s and recoup a 3rd and a 4th they lost nothing. With this fake cap stuff they doing they will be able to pay Brown too. They just punked the Ravens.

Brady probably took less in pay/cap space while he was playing with New England to allow them to build somewhat of a team around them...

Mahomes signed onto a contract with KC that allows the Chiefs the flexibility of working his contract each year to provide them the necessary cap space to go after the J Thuney's and Orlando Brown Jr's of the NFL....

Both are HOF-caliber QB's and ultra-competitive that would do those sorts of things for their teams to put them in a position to win multiple Super Bowls...

Unfortunately for the Vikes, they don't have that type of QB....and the other 30 teams in the NFL (other than Tampa & KC) are chasing that....5 other teams are hoping that the guy they draft next Thursday will land them a Brady or Mahomes, and the Vikings in all probability won't be one of them...

To whoskmoon's thread on what it takes to win the Super Bowl, that answer for the Vikes in 2021 is having to replicate what the Giants did in 2007/2011 with Eli and what the Ravens did with Flacco in 2012, which is: 1) have the team remain relatively healthy, 2) have a solid pass-rush, and 3) have a solid (but not great) QB "get hot" in the postseason.

Don't forget about Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who was their staring RG for 5 years before opting out of 2020. He's under contract for around $5M and $7M dead cap, so I don't think he's getting cut.

I agree with NoresemanSam that it was a pricey deal. Don't forget that this is for a single season of Brown Jr. Don't forget that Brown Jr. has exactly 11 games of experience as a LT - he's an established RT, but lacks experience on the left side.
