Reports have come out that Seahawks quarterback Russel Wilson was frustrated with the nepotism in Seattle. Head coach Pete Carroll not only held supreme power in Seattle, but so did his sons, who were made coaches on the team. The Minnesota Viking have a similar situation with Mike Zimmer being in charge and having his son move up to defensive co-coordinator and his long time coaching friend Gary Kubiak installing his son, Klint at quarterbacks coach.
In 2021, Klint was named offensive coordinator to replace his dad after no real attempt to have competition for that position. The coaching old boys network has become coaching royalty where positions of power are passed on from generation to generation. This is nothing new, as this was a trend decades ago, but the renewal of this trend is disturbing.
With Wilson's statements in Seattle, one has to wonder how Vikings players feel about the situation in Minnesota. When they see coaching position being taken by Yo Yo Ma's little cousin "little Nepotis," are they frustrated as well. Do they wonder if the Vikings brought in the best coaches for the players or if the Vikings are on the job training for the next batch of Zimmers and Kubiaks?
Report: Russell Wilson thinks Pete Carroll and his sons answer to no one

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson hasn’t only played for head coach Pete Carroll for his entire career. He has also played for both of Carroll’s sons, who have been offensive assistants in Seattle: Nate Carroll is the Seahawks’ wide receivers coach, and Brennan Carroll recently left his role as Seahawks run game coordinator to work at the University of Arizona.
Wilson has been widely reported to be frustrated with Pete Carroll, and he’s also reportedly frustrated with Carroll’s sons.
