No Spin, best players in the draft in early rounds

Neil Farrel LSU  misspelled it   disrupter big man 6 4" 319 that can collapse the pocket in the passing game and hold the line of scrimmage in the run game.
Played well against top SEC competition. He would be my first pick in the 3rd round assuming we do not sign an upgrade at 3 Tech DT in free agency.

This was just an initial evaluation of some players I would consider as options in rounds 3 and 4. No exact order or who I would pick at this point. 
I am sure about specific players and picks in rounds 1& 2 that I selected. 

G question, Easton only if he passes physical concerns I assume he does. If not sign the next best above average G that we can sign at a value deal. Josh Kline, or promote from within. Give Hinton or Udoh a true shot at the job. Many alternatives to undersized guards who get pushed around. 

Jackson is a very good G overall who grades out high on run and pass blocking. The GM and OC need to rethink there G O-line drafting critera.
The most important thing a G does is hold his position at the line of attack in passing plays. He does not allow the pocket to collapse quickly or at all. He is able to physically handle his man. Jackson does that well. In run blocking the same thing applies as you need to shift your man to one side or the other to open a hole for your running back. You have to be able to physically handle your man. Whether you can run like a linebacker and get to the second level is less important if you can't do the first two things well and handle your man at the point of attack. Bottom line being extremely athletic and undersized or who can not hold up at the line of attack does not and has not work welled. See Elflein, Samia, Dozier,  Compton. Remmers. Do I need to go on. All of these guys could not hold the line of attack and got overpowered regularily. Doing the same thing and expecting the same result is insanity. Little Rickey, HC, OC needs to wise up  

Lastly WLB Malone, Jacobs area big time productive playmakers. Not advising to draft both. They are good options in those rounds. I would draft one of them.
Davis I thought played very well, he could take over for Barr. You could resign Wilson he played well also, with a minimal drop off from Barr. Sign an above average free agent at a lower contract than Barr. Many options.     
  

Good info on Farrell, did not know that. Disagree about Davis I think he played better than Gedeon or just okay at WLB. Yes,  he may not be able to be a SLB.
Wilson did pretty well filling in and he could be a much cheaper option with slight drop off. Disagree about continue going with Bradbury types. Bradbury could have been on my list as he is still a big question mark if he does not improve on his anchoring this year. They have to be able to anchor well first and have some skill at getting to next level. But if you can't anchor and control your man you are going to have quick collapsing pockets and no well defined holes to run. And can not make 4th and inches to win a game. See last years tape of our O-line Guard play. Sacrificing size and strength at the point of attack for 2nd level speed is stupid and does not and will not work. See examples I gave you. They need to adjust and make sure they have G's that can anchor first as well have of some ability to get to the second level, which is not as important. Period  

Wilson is more of a WSLB. He doesn't hold up well against the run and simply doesn't shed blockers very well. he is very good in coverage though.

Dido, well stated, I could not have said it better. Best reply post of the day. Hopefully The draft brain trust and OC can learn how to adapt and pick G's who can anchor first and still have some limited athletic ability to get to second second level as needed.
