lol I mean thats nice and all to play around with, but in reality all that is not going to happen. There are a lot of easy ways out of this cap hell but you have to think in the mind of Rick and Zim, which is win now so I doubt any big names will get cut. Shamar is an easy cut probably Bailey too. I dont see Reiff or Barr getting cut, them Kirk or Harrison Smith are likely in line to get extensions to free some space.

Oh I agree, it probably doesn't happen. What I did in OTC was incredibly irresponsible for the future of the team, but it is possible. It takes any cap flexibility we had in 2022 and throws it out the window, which means next year we are in the same boat as this year, where the Vikings are looking at creating even more dead cap for our future GM to try to work around.

Carl Lawson is a great player when he is healthy. In the NFL, Lawson played great as a rookie, but he had a season-ending torn ACL in 2018 and lingering injuries in 2019.

There is a lot of risk to reward with Lawson, and the Vikings just experienced not having one of their best players for a whole season. With the Vikings limited moves, is that a risk they are willing to take?

Giving Hunter more money actually will free up more space this year. If he balls out you will pay him next year anyways. It's a gamble to give him extension. But predicting future on anybody is a gamble. Giving Cousins a guaranteed contract is a gamble for another reason talent. I believe Hunter will be okay, we have doctors check him out to see the risk factors. I would gamble any day and twice on Sunday, that Hunter is worth long term big bucks over Cousins or Barr. Like Funk once told be about Zim, I will die on that hill saying keep Hunter even if it means bye to Barr and or Cousins.

sounds like he's the type of player that's going to find himself looking for work in a season with a lowered cap. For the right price on a 1 year deal, I say yes.

I been wanting Lawson. I said it somewhere on here he was on my wish list from the jump. I bet we don't though, knowing them we pretty much done getting DEs.

Yes he is. Maybe the health factor would keep his cost down and make him have to take a prove it deal. I would love to get him. Probably a pipe dream, but would be worth taken a risk.
